I would recommend him, but advise them to make sure the patient does the gathering of records and bring them with them, don't depend on the clinic to do what they are supposed to do.

My experience is mixed. My first impressions on several visits was he is great. Very straight forward with explaining in great details the condition and solutions. This was an elective surgery, UVA. Then comes my surgery, which I had FMLA was in place, home care etc. all lined up. I get a phone call 1 month before surgery saying we have to postpone because the doctor was going on a vacation-does he not plan for vacations?? I have my surgery 1 month later, I never saw him post op in recovery, his Resident came to see me. Which did not impress me. Now, it's been over 1 year and I am still waiting on my 1 year post op appt. Because his office continues to cancel me and send me a new date/time/location for another appt. When I call and complain about being rescheduled, the excuse is emergencies happen or a schedule problem. I have been made to feel like I'm no longer important. I feel discarded! I will change doctors after this!! That's if I get my 1 yr post-op appt. Shake my head...

In my multiple appointments/interactions with Dr. Rapp in the past 5 years, I have found him to be highly knowledgeable, thorough and caring. He performed robotic surgery on me in Richmond and I recently saw him for follow up concerns at UVA. He is an expert in pelvic floor issues as well as general urology and has always fully addressed all of my questions and made me/my husband feel like he had as much time as we needed. He is super approachable and down-to-earth. We recommend him very highly.

My experience with Dr. Rapp has been excellent. He really takes the time to understand what the patient is telling him as opposed to many other doctors I've had that shuttle in and out as fast as possible. He then really made his diagnosis and recommended course of action very clear. I would highly recommend him.

I had an appointment with him in regards to some symptoms I was having. He refused to prescribe me any medication and stated that he did not see an issue. He took a test that same day and sent it out for results. A week later, I still had not heard from his office in regards to my test results. I had to call the office for my results, which were positive. NO ONE ever called me back to prescribe me any medication. I went to my PCP and he helped me. I would NOT RECOMMEND

I had a bout with kidney stones in late 2016 that involved multiple stones of varying sizes. Dave was really great as a sounding board to understand my options and provide advice when he thought it was needed - I was reluctant to immediately do surgery and he fully respected this and was not high pressure in any way. He was very detailed and showed me my scans and what was going on. We did ultimately have to do surgery and the procedure was flawless with strong follow up.

I found him to be very rude, also very short, does not look into matters, he sometimes thinks things are in your head. Does not listen to patients concern. I would not see him again. I am home on bed rest and medication and may have to see another doctor for a second opinion. I had surgery and had to return for stent removal, them came back for Pain the same day and was asked to return and dr, Rapp says I have a problem because I've return to his office 3 times.
