While I was a patient of Dr. Mayo a few years ago I worry that recent policy will only further Dr. Mayo to feel empowered to impose his beliefs upon others. Please talk with him first about his views on women's health to ensure that they match yours. When my pregnancy became dangerous to my health he did everything in his power to prevent me from fully understanding the health risk to myself and my unborn. He also attempted to prevent me from getting the proper care that I needed. Thankfully I was able to get credible information from several other doctors all who were actually concerned about my own health as well as that of my child, but it was a difficult task.

Never had to sign an arbitration statement in a doc’s office before, which included all prior visits. I got real skeptical when surgery was suggested before an examination. Even going as far as taking out my appendix too!! Another what the heck moment, I noticed a VM on my mobile from the office after returning home from my appt. It was left 10-15 mins. before my appt. It stated that the doctor had to go to an emergency delivery and they need to reschedule. However, when I showed up no one mentioned this to me. They took me as if the message was never left, no “we just left a message...but it’s OK now….” Also, I’ve never had a painful pap smear before. I never felt anything being eased in, just sudden pain, 0 to 100. While I was writhing in pain, rather than removing the instrument, he told me to relax. Are you kidding me? I could dismiss the pain, but what irked me was him telling me to relax. I know how to relax during a pap, besides I was relaxed before the sudden pain
