Have to stay on him
He ordered a colonoscopy since I have had polyps in the past. For a year I didn’t hear anything. It wasn’t until I posted here that they called me and scheduled the specialist. This time they were pre-cancerous.

He has been my dr since 1983. I miss him terribly
He treats the whole patient. He has the innate ability to find clues to a diagnosis that others miss. He is incredible. If he was still in my area, he would certainly still be my physican. Anyone who can name David Locklear as their physician is indeed fortunate.

Met to decide if to use after my Dr retired
Doctor David G. Locklear charged $142.40 after a 6 minute meeting where this new Doctor was simply taking over for my doctor who retired a few months ago, and after stated he could not accept me due to pre-existing medical/medicinal issues, and for forwarding my records. Quite pricey for a meeting where I received zero medical help, and no benefit of any kind whatsoever, except for forwarding my own personal records. I was told by phone Feb, 9th, 2023 that the majority of the charge is due to setting me up as a 'new patient' (It's the same facility with same files, just a different Dr.). However bills in Jan, 2023 states : 'Established patient'. So apparently I am both an 'established patient' and a 'new patient' simultaneously so they can charge a higher price. I will be pulling all my family from the 'new' replacement doctor, since I do not want doctor Locklear to consider them as 'established patients', but charge them as 'new patients'.

Would've been 5 stars, except for one small issue.
Dr. Locklear is an outstanding physician. Unfortunately, he has moved from this area and that makes him inaccessible for the purposes of being my primary care doctor. The only negative I will proffer is that there was no warning of his leaving (twice, first from SPFP, which he founded and then from Tryon (DBA as Gaston) Medical Group. If I had been informed prior to his departures, I might have had a primary care physician during the pandemic (I didn't-insurance exclusion issues with Tryon) or at this present time. I have multiple illnesses and they require at least a yearly or bi-yearly examination. I have no idea when my next examination by a qualified senior focused primary care provider will occur. It'd be nice to think Dr. Locklear will return, but that is NOT a realistic hope. He was my primary care provider for over twenty years. I wish him the best. He is missed.

Top Notch!
Dr. Locklear is by far the best, down to earth and amazing doctor! He has been my family’s family doctor for 30+ years. He spent time with you. He cared about each of his patients. I do not know how or whom will replace him. I will miss him so much!

Best doctor I've ever used. Very caring and has a very high moral and ethical standard for himself. Not only will he spend all the time it takes to care for you and your current condition or problems, he will even give spiritual guidance if that is something you would like. A true professional in every way and a great ambassador for the Lord.
