Dr. David Backstedt, MD

Dr. Backstedt literally saved my life! He has been very patient, professional, caring, down-to-earth, & remembers his patients. It is hard to impress a bedside nurse of over 20 years, and he has impressed 2 of us. He speaks to us respectfully & acknowledges our own knowledge of medicine. Asks if we understand or have questions without being condescending. He has great bedside manner. He, nor his staff, judged me or made me feel insignificant like previous doctors. He even remembers my family & me every time I visit or have an issue I need to contact them. I drive 45 minutes to see him. He tries to make it convenient for us & schedule visits at the clinic closer to me. Nurse calls are returned in a reasonable amount of time. They have an app you can directly message the nurse. The lady in the lab of his clinic is super friendly & has great technique. Appt wait times are usually reasonable (I’ve been in & out in 30 minutes with having labs drawn). I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Backstedt was seen like a very nice man (this was my first visit). He was very easy to talk to and he didn’t rush in and out. He explained things clearly and listened to what I had to say.

Dr. Backstedt sat down and listened to my concerns regarding a GI condition. I am seeing him because I am facing another surgical procedure. He stated, “Before we do that, let’s throw the book at these issues.” A MD with a plan…his nurse even calls to check on how I am progressing with new meds. Thanks for giving me a plan and superb care!

He did an EGD and colonoscopy about a year 2 years ago There was one abnormal cell in the bx he did. I came back and he did 15 biopsies to “map” my stomach. (My mom died of stomach cancer) everything came back okay I follow up with him yearly.

Dr Backsted was very personal and listened to me. He offered several different treatment for my concerns. He explained each and made me feel comfortable about what to do next! Very friendly staff and great follow ups!

Takes the time to talk, explain and listen!

Things in general could have been done better. I felt I was not closely listened to & the severity of my very frequent, debilitating physical pain was not taken seriously. Am considering finding another GI specialist.

Dr. Backstedt was very concerned and helpful with my stomach issue. He listened to me and offered several treatment options. The staff was friendly and helpful and everyone was practicing virus prevention recommendations.

After seeing more gi dr Thai care to name I was at the point I was ready to cash it in. He not only treated my uc but we have achieved complete remission for the first time in 30 years. I won’t see another gi dr.

Dr. Backstedt listens and cares about my health issues. I did some research online and he took time to go over the information I had researched. His nurse Amanda is one of the best. She makes sure to contact me to give me the test results and anytime I call in she gets back to me. Both Dr. Backstedt and Amanda are the best health care people I have been to.
