Dr. Darrell Cheek, MD

Dr. Cheek has been my primary care doctor for about 20 years. He has seen me through me through many issues always with prime attention and care. He is very knowledgeable considerate, sympathetic, and he Listens. I never feel rushed during my visits and he always asks if I have any questions. I have already referred my daughter.

Dr Cheek is fine if you can get an appointment when needed. Staff is VERY discurteous. No way to talk to the doctor, it's like they are tge secret service protecting the president.

I have been seeing Dr. Cheek for several years now. I recently had an 8:15 appointment for a checkup. I arrived at 8:05, and there was an issue with my insurance that I was unaware of. The front desk lady said she called the automated number for my insurance and said my insurance had expired. I said that is not correct because I pay my monthly premiums. I called my insurance, and the person I was able to get was extremely helpful, and we figured out the issue. My wife recently turned 65 and went on a Medicare plan, and we are now on split plans. She gave me my new policy number which I then gave to the front desk and she verified it was valid. She then proceeded to tell me that I would need to reschedule my appointment because it was 8:30 and my appointment. I said you have to be kidding me, I usually have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes (and have waited over an hour in the past) after my scheduled appointment time to be called back. I told her that I would just find a new doctor, and she just gave me an 'I could give a sh#t' look. Since Dr. Cheek has moved his practice to Northside Gwinnett Primary Care, the office staff has been extremely rude and incompetent. I would recommend you avoid at all cost Northside Gwinnett Primary Care for any of their doctors.

Dr. Cheek is very professional but friendly & easy to talk to. He is very knowledgeable & explains well. I am respectful of his time, but, he doesn’t make me feel rushed if I have questions. I feel very well taken care of by him.

After moving to the area several years ago my husband and I found Dr. Cheek and we are very satisfied with him and the staff. He takes his time with me during the appointment and listens to me. He explains all my lab results to me and not down at me.
