Dr. Daniel McKenzie, MD

I am dealing now 14 years with 6 different cancers. Dr McKenzie is one of the doctors keeping me alive. He knows what he does and works with an amazing team. They are very nice and professional and keep my 2 skin cancer types in row before they eat me alive. You will be in best hands with them.

Dr McKenzie is personable, his office is efficient, his assistants are courteous, as is Dr McKenzie. I and my husband have been his patients for several years. During those years Dr M showed himself to be highly knowledgeable and well trained in dermatology issues no matter how routine or rare.

I saw Dr. McKenzie for several years... it was always difficult to get an appointment (usually 30 to 60 days out)... I always felt rushed thru the appointment and did not feel as though he truly listened... the final deciding factor was a series of disappointing experiences with two MOHS procedures... what should have been resolved over a few months, was instead spread over 6 months and therefore each site required larger margins... and when I expressed my frustration and dissatisfaction to the doctor, he completely ignored my feelings and changed the subject... this is not a doctor that I would recommend...

He examined my entire body for carcinomas, thankfully found none. He used a lighted magnifying glass and explained each spot.

Dr. McKenzie has been my Dermatologist for many years. He is always very cheerful, patient, and knowledgeable. During two separate routine office visits, he discovered two skin cancers.

Dr. McKenzie is one of THE BEST Dermatologist we have ever gone to. Having spent the last 5 decades on Kauai, on a mirror/snowfield professionally at Mammoth, and surfing/beach time since our childhood, we are paying for playing in the sun. We have diligently gone to the dermatologists on Kauai for biannual checkups for over 3 decades, so know a pro when dealing with the suns impact. My wife with extensive MOHS surgeries, and myself more lucky: Our initial checkup last week was great! Dr. Daniel was super thorough, taking all the time he needed for us both, (w/ 5 path scoops for my wife =( , super professional, informative, relaxed, and listens well w/ good advice and medication recommendations. When 1st moved here 3 months ago, he referred wife (after seeing her records mailed in advance) to Dr. Hung @Hoag/Newport for her next major MOHS which went very well. She may have to have both doctors do their magic upon path review. FYI: his assistants and office staff are wonderful as well.

I’ve seen Dr. McKenzie for 20 years and his 5 star care has remained constant. He is thorough, compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, and I trust him. His staff is great: personable and professional. I’m lucky to have found him.

As a survivor of melanoma I can only compare Dr McKenzie with my first experience in another city. Dr. McKenzie is sensitive to the dignity of the patient in examining all the skin on a regular basis. He takes time to answer questions and is proactive in managing new suspicious conditions. He always makes time as needed.

Dr. McKensie is a wonderful physician. I first went to him as a new patient who had contracted shingles. He was very responsive to my medical needs. I have been his patient ever since!

Dr. McKenzie is extremely personable and knowledgeable. He made me feel very comfortable and discovered a Basal cell carcinoma on my nose that I thought was a pimple. I highly recommend him for any dermatology needs.
