Fail
Ear reconstruction total failure.Skin cancer cause removal of the top of my left ear, Dr Alam was very optimistic about being able to successfully repair the damaged and missing parts of the ear.Two surgeries and months of pain later, the skin and cartilage grafts completely rotted off.The worst aspect of it all was that the doctor and his PA never owned up to the failure, but led me to believe that the results were normal.

Ignore the low ratings
I would give Dr. Alam 10 stars, if I could. Dr. Alam is at the very top of his game and has led teams of doctors in the most advanced surgeries - like face transplants. I had two functional rhinoplasties prior to meeting him, and what he did was a very simple use of cartilage to spring open my nares (the holes in your nose) to let enough air into my lungs while sleeping. I was having night terrors and apnea before meeting Dr. Alam. By the way, Dr., I'm still breathing well almost 10 years later. Ignore the one-star ratings. They are left by non-medical whiners. I hope you're well, doctor. I retired from Fire and EMS in 2020 and went to law school. Keep doing what you're doing - making huge, positive changes in your patients' lives.

A wonderful and gifted Physician
I was a blinded by a diagnosis that I was told was very rare. I thought I was having a bad dream for many weeks. I Immediately liked Dr. Alam and I’m so grateful to have a surgeon of his caliber to help me. He was easy to talk to, answered all my questions in a way I could easily understand, is encouraging, and I feel fortunate everyday to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Alam was the only surgeon willing to do my surgery the way I wanted. Several other surgeons would not discuss it. He used the very least invasive method to remove my cancer when no one else would. I am cancer free and have zero external scars. Recovery time was less than a month. I highly recommend this guy.

I rate Dr. Alam as one of the best top notch doctors that I know. He is very accurate in his thoughts of my last visit. He continues on to his decision what comes next on my treatment plan. He’s a doctor that I was referred to by Queen’s Dr Alfred Liu. I’m very happy to have him in charge of my health concerns and am fully confident he will take care of me now and in the future. His office staff are awesome workers.

Not impressed. His bedside manner is lacking and communication skills are: he surgeon you listen. Period. In this modern day of healthcare, I'm interested in a doctor who truly cares.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Alam?
Dr. Alam wants to do surgery on patients no matter their underlying pathology. Surgery every time for every disease. His job appears to consist of two duties 1) sell the patient the idea that surgery will help no matter if it will or not, and 2) perform surgery. Surgery whether it will help or not, is always the answer for Dr Alam. This is from experience in his Honolulu office.
