Dr. Da Jiang, MD

Dr.Jiang helped beat the enormous odds that were stacked against me. My previous urologist said my bladder was so damaged from BPH that even a TURP probably wouldn’t help, and that I would need an SP-tube for the rest of my life. Long story short, I had to go all the way across the country to get a second opinion, from Dr. Jerry Blaivas, a world-renowned urologist. He was fairly confident that with a TURP, my bladder would be able to recover. But he also said it would be very difficult to find a surgeon who shared his opinion that it was worth doing.Thankfully, Dr. Jiang turned out to be exactly the rare surgeon Dr. Blaivas had hoped I could find. Dr. Jiang did my TURP, and I was able to get up and walk around within about an hour. Three days later, the catheter was removed, and in just a couple hours, my bladder began to work on its own. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Jiang, and all the other wonderful and dedicated people who work with him and took such great care of me.

Long story short, my family has been through a long journey with Dr. Jiang and staff as my father had complications due to an extremely enlarged prostate with an additional cancer scare. Dr. Jiang and Team were very patient and professional with my dad, who was quite a difficult patient, by the way. Under the doctor’s recommendation we proceeded with a Robotic Simple Prostatectomy and it all went as well as it possibly could have — no more catheter! All of the staff and nurses along the way were extremely accessible and patient with my father. We are so thankful that we proceeded with this surgery and there have been absolutely no complications. Thank you, Team for bringing normality back to my father’s life! It seems that Dr Jiang is a leading physician in this area and we were comforted to have him performing the surgery.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Jiang and his incredible team. I recently underwent a robotic partial nephrectomy, and from start to finish, I was in the best hands. Dr. Jiang highly skilled, compassionate and dedicated to achieving the best outcomes. My surgery was particularly challenging, and at one point Dr. Jiang was minutes away from needing to remove my entire kidney, but he didn’t give up. He navigated the difficulties with precision and determination, ultimately saving my kidney—and I am beyond grateful. PA Tran’s support and expertise were invaluable throughout this process. The entire team made me feel informed, reassured, and cared for every step of the way. From the first consultation to the final follow-up, I felt very comfortable with Dr. Jiang and had total confidence in him. I am very pleased with Dr. David Jiang. I had a 270gram (ginormous) prostate causing me to retain urine in my bladder. Dr. Jiang through robotic surgery was able to reduce my prostate by 80percent. Allowing my bladder to drain naturally. I recommend this surgeon very highly for anyone needing prostate surgery. He is very through and knowledgeable. Had a great experience with Dr. Jiang. He was personable and confident. Was in on Friday for surgery on my prostate and out on Saturday. Had little to no pain and no complications. Dr. Jiang has communicated with me everyday of my post op. (5 days). Have had nothing but a prompt and pleasant experience.

Dr. Jiang was able to relieve me of my BPH with a robotic assisted simple prostatectomy that helped me deal with very large prostrate that had given me difficulties for over ten years. The relief from multiple symptoms including frequent and sometimes uncomfortable urination was immediate. He was very thorough in explaining my condition, the treatment options he felt I had, and what he felt would be best for my situation. Dr. Jiang takes a personal interest in his patients and follows up with genuine care and concern. One of the best doctors that I have encountered through the years.

My dad was using a catheter for a few months and was stubborn and didn't want surgery. Dr. Jiang adeptly performed prostate surgery on my dad and fixed him for good. He is so happy and living pain free.

I saw Dr Jiang for a HOLEP procedure. What impressed me most about Dr Jiang was his professionalism and the fact that he answered all of the questions I had about this procedure honestly and thoroughly.During the initial consultation, Dr Jiang spent a considerable amount of time to make sure that I understood the procuedure and more importantly, that I was comfortable with the procedure.One concern we discussed was blood thinners and the HOLEP procedure, a situation that would complicate the surgical procedure. Dr Jiang listened carefully to all of my concerns and when formulating possible post-operative plans, he consulted with his colleagues. I was very impressed with his proactive approach and his willingness to fine tune his treatment plan in real time during my recovery.Dr Jiang is a very knowledgeable and talented surgeon who is clearly passionate about his profession. It is a privilege to have him as one of my physicians.

Dr Jiang was able to relieve me of my BPH with a robotic assisted supra pubic prostatectomy that totally relieved me of all my symptoms. He was very forthcoming in explaining the current status of my condition, possible treatment options, and what he felt would be best for my case. I have a better life now and would recommend him to anyone with BPH problems.

I have been experiencing increasing problems with urination for the last 20 years and this has impacted my health in multiple ways including chronic infections, bladder stones, and kidney stones. My prostate was double the normal size. I tried medications to increase flow and the Rezum procedure with no benefit. Dr. Jiang and I decided on the HoLEP procedure which he performed 5 days ago. The results are wonderful already: I can pee like a teenager and I have had little discomfort! Dr. Jiang was the 5th urologist I have had and I can say unreservedly that he was the best. He returned from lunch early on the day of my first consultation so that I could get the full workup done in one visit, as we live 3 hours away from his office. He was attentive, caring, and skilled during and after the surgery. He is an excellent doctor and this procedure is surely one to consider!

I'm a 75 year old male from Bend Oregon. My urologist referred me to Dr David Jiang in Portland. I had an enlarged prostate pressing on my urethra and bladder, plus there was a bladder diverticula (pocket) that also needed removal. These were causing urine retention and restricted flow, and use of intermittent catheters. It would have required two surgeries in Bend but only one with robotics. Dr Jiang performed the robotic surgery and I had a two night stay in the hospital. The little pain was easily controlled.There have been no issues at all after the surgery . . everything turned out much better than I ever expected. Both urine flow and retention were corrected, and I no longer catheter. I am also grateful for the numerous follow-ups with the doctor. Dr Jiang is an extremely competent and caring physician. Even the nursing staff were very complimentary towards him. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Dr Jiang to my family and friends.

I'm 68 and was referred to Dr. Jiang by my urologist for a robotic simple prostatectomy. Once I got over the shock that Dr Jiang looked like he Just got out of school, I liked him. He spoke very directly and without the paranoid couching of terms that so many Doctors have fallen into. Other than having a reaction to some of the glue used to patch me up, the surgery, recovery, and urinary and sexual function were all great. I can't believe that the robotic simple prostatectomy is not recommended in place of a TURP. Talk to Dr Jiang I think you will find him confidence inspiring.

Dr. Jiang is a wonderful person. Very confident and very very skillful. Dr. Jiang performed Robotic assisted laparoscopic suprapubic prostatectomy for my 153mL BPH. After surgery I didn't feel any pain in my prostate or bladder. Just a little discomfort in one of the incisions lasted only a day. More importantly minimum blood loss, I didn't want any blood transfusion and he said he never given any blood transfusion for this procedure in his career, even though another Urologist at the other clinic told me I need the blood transfusion for the same procedure. I was so happy to find Dr. Jiang to treat me. He is the best!

Dr.Jiang and his office are some of the nicest folks you will meet. Dr.Jiang does great job listening to my concerns so we could come up with a good game plan to better serve my needs. I look forward to continuing working the Dr.Jiang.

We live 5 hours n a ferry ride away to see Dr. Jiang because he is exceptional.He explains meds, procedures, risks etc in thorough detail. Even with his busy schedule, he is shows concern n answers our questions.My spouse has dementia n he is respectful n understanding.Go glad our old urologist retired and we now are in good hands.

Dr. Jiang was recommended by a family friend. He's very thorough and very kind. My husband had kidney cancer and he helped us navigate the disease. He was able to perform the surgery with robotics and my husband went home the same day. The surgery went very smooth. We couldn't believe how fast he recovered. I would recommend him for anyone in the Portland area! He lived up to his reputation!

I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Jiang. I got covid, so clinic decided on telehealth appointment. Clinic said doctor would call me at 2:45, and that I should call if I did not get a call within 5 minutes after that. I called at about 3. I was told that the doctor was behind and would call when possible. I called at 3:30 and was placed on indefinite hold. As I write this it is 4pm, and I have heard nothing . Not even a courtesy call. I am tired of the 'understaffed' excuse. Such cavalier treatment of patients is inexcusable
