Worst appointment of my life. Extremely condescending, did not ask a single question, and acted like I was such an inconvenience for being there. As a medical provider myself, I am fortunate to have some knowledge, and know what medical care I need, tho I like to discuss and better understand with a provider in the particular field of medicine, she made mistakes and didn’t ask important questions nor give me the opportunity to mention pertinent medical history that would have led to different medical advice. I left this appointment feeling unheard, unseen, and violated. Would never recommend and would actual discourage anyone from using this provider.

Dr Legum-Wenk has a terrible bedside manner. She seemed completely uninterested in my appt. She was in a hurry to get out of the exam room from the moment she walked in. I tried to ask a few questions and she seemed like I was annoying her and gave short answers as she was walking out the door. As a woman having menopausal symptoms, it would’ve been nice if she’d taken a minute to listen to me and answer my questions. What a disappointment. Definitely don’t make an appt with her, unless you want a cold, uninterested provider. I would leave the practice if I hadn’t already seen another doctor in the practice who was wonderful. The only upside to the entire experience was the mammogram tech, Rachel, was awesome!

She always makes time me with and ask me what questions do I have .

I’ve always felt comfortable at my appointments. No matter the problem or routine visit, she’s always pleasant and upfront with honest information which I appreciate. She’s also quick to answer my portal questions. Never had a bad experience.

I am glad I went to Dr. Legum-Wenk to go over birth control options. She really takes the time to listen and answers questions thoroughly. She’s an adept surgeon and my experience could not have been better.

I am shocked she received all of these 5 star reviews in 2024. She spent less than 5 minutes in our appointment when I was 8 weeks pregnant. I had excruciating pain and after an ultrasound she said it’s an ovarian cyst and no other details. She explained nothing, no follow up, or no plan of action. I felt belittled after asking a question and she seemed in a rush and I was an inconvenience. I was in tears leaving the office. I had horrible pain on and off for days and was told to take otc pain reliever and use a heating pad. I was so distraught I left the practice and found a new OB that listened and made a plan of action to ease my fears. She figured out the pain was due to an intermittent ovarian torsion. It was quite traumatic and so happy I found a caring doctor. I would not recommend Legum-Wenk to anyone.

I love that you can schedule back to back mammograms and annuals. Dr. Legum-Wenk is very warm and puts you at ease and is always on time.

Having had terrible women's care in the past, my well woman exam with Dr. Legum-Wenk was honestly healing. She took the time to talk about my risk factors and advise me on testing, conducted a respectful exam, and opened the floor to questions from me. It's always uncomfortable to have such intimate care, but all my interactions at the practice were warm and dignified.

I really love the Virginia Womens Center. Dr Courtney Legum-Wenk was very compassionate and understanding. She was very patient and listened to your concerns. I didn't feel rushed. I would definitely recommend her to others.

All of the staff and the Dr were friendly, helpful and did not make me feel rushed. They listened to me and answered all of my questions.

Excellent Doctor and staff. She not only listens to your concerns but explains in detail what options are available to address any issues that arise. I am always treated with great care and put at ease with her exceptional dedication to my well-being.

Dr. Legum-Wenk has seen me through the good and bad, from a miscarriage and a breast lump to routine visits and an IUD. She balances direct information, humor, and compassion in a masterful way. I hope she never leaves the area because I have never felt as cared for by any health care provider. I feel lucky to have found her.

If I could give zero stars I would. My appointment was similar to others that gave a low rating. The energy was chaotic, condescending, overwhelming, and extremely uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend any young women see this doctor because they will never understand the kind of care they really need and deserve. A doctor…esp OBGYN… should be relaxed and comforting to make their patients feel seen and respected and that was the exact opposite of my experience. Left the office crying, spoke to someone about my experience, and will not be seeing her again. Additionally, I do not think she should be training others that will take positions similar to her in the future because more OBGYNS like this would be a nightmare and scary for women who have legitimate concerns for their bodies and health. I tend to be more lenient with criticizing women professionals as a radical feminist but this encounter left me no choice. I also NEVER leave reviews on anything but felt very strongly about this.

The staff at the front desk and the staff that did the intake were very personable and compassionate. Dr. Legum-Wenk was in the room for less than 5 minutes took a quick look at the reason why I was there, prescribed meds and left.

This is my third child and I have always had postive experiences with the doctor at VA women's. The visit with Legum-Wenk was cold, lacked empathy, and rushed. After the 20 week ultrasound we received some upsetting news about our child. No questions were answered. The most we got was a shrug of her shoulder and a 'I couldn't tell you' or 'I don't know.' At one point I started crying and she even seemed annoyed. She was definitely annoyed when she then had to start answering my husband's questions about what further testing or ultrasounds would look like. When the front office staff asked me if I wanted to schedule any more visits with her my answer was and will always be absolutely NOT. Would not recommend.

I’m pregnant with my first and have been seeing Dr. Legum-Wenk for the last ~8 months (after seeing 2-3 other doctors at VWC). She is knowledgeable, friendly and always on time! I feel comfortable asking her anything and she goes above and beyond. Her nurse is wonderful as well. Can’t recommend her enough.

Dr Legum-Wenk was an excellent doctor to me. She listened and was caring and personable. I left feeling like I just happened upon a gem of a doctor.
