Mysterious and Unclear - Fails the Thyroid Patient
Unless you are seeing her for diabetes, which she is passionate about due to her life story and the reason she pursued endocrinology, a hard pass. See another endocrinologist who truly cares about and knows thyroid and pituitary issues, not this one. My story: Have been seeing Dr. Levetan for 5 years. Still no stability on my thyroid - 5 years is a long time to get this right. Overdosed two times on levothyroxine. Blood work orders occasionally miss t4 and t3 which is frustrating - has happened at least three times, the two when I was overdosed. She is not clear about my issue, and explanation on my situation and diagnosis remains a mystery. Mumbles and ponders. It's a mystery how she thinks and works. No formal imaging, just random ultrasounds in office - can't show other doctors because they were not saved. I studied science so I need to know what is going on and have a desire to learn but I learn nothing that I can't Google myself. 5 years...! Otherwise she is pleasant as a person.

Ignored my concerns and my complaints about not feeling well. I did not get the impression that she was knowledgeable enough about my particular condition. She kept saying that my levels were fine, my med doseage was good...just had the attitude that I just had to put up with not feeling well. I found this offensive since I have been a health care provider for over 40 years.

Terrible experience
She was very scattered and had lots of others in her office in the exam room. She talked to them and not me. She made it very clear that she did not want to bother with me because I am overweight. She mocked me. She did not look at me in the eyes once during the exam. She also put down the town where she is in practice. She is very snobby and looks down on people. She did not help me at all. I have type 1 diabetes and was looking for help to improve my A1C and to lose weight. She had no time for me and made me feel like I was not worth her time.

Dr. Levetan is extremely informed and compassionate. She inspires one to have confidence in her diagnosis and decision making. She takes time with you and she explains things well. I didn't love the office set up -- very big city sterile offices. But everyone was very nice.

She is a very knowledgeable and qualified professional, takes her time to talk with you, very good with follow up calls. The only difficulty is getting scheduled to see her because her hours are limited and she doesn't work everyday
