Terrible experience
I am a young college athlete diagnosed with osteoporosis. It was an unexpected result of a bone density scan and I was sent to Dr. Rhea for help. He drew labs, some came back abnormal (SSA, ANA, Alk phos, SLE speckled pattern) and he recommended nothing and said these were all inconclusive. I returned in followup today and he basically told me that he only saw old people with the diagnosis of osteoporosis so since I was young, he has no idea what to tell me...WHAT A WASTE OF TIME after waiting 1 hour in his waiting room.

Was Rushed and Not Heard
I was dismissed and he didn't listen to me. I wasn't given time to even really explain my symptoms. I felt very uncomfortable and anxious and rushed. I was told contradicting things that were basically just discounting my concerns. I was told to just keep ignoring my symptoms if that was working and come back in 6 months.

Excellent Doctor
Dr. Rhea takes the time to listen and finds the problem. Have referred numerous people to him since both my husband and I are patients and he has found solutions to both our different ailments, and has found a way to either correct or control. Highly recommend him. Has made a huge difference in our lives.

FANTASTIC DOCTOR!!!
In some reviews they state they got unexpected bills. It's YOUR responsibility to know your insurance policy! READ ALL OF IT. Dr. Rhea is AWESOME! He was the ONLY Dr. that even TRIED to help me after 10 years of suffering. Others just gave me MASSIVE doses of PREDNISONE,and gave up, treating ME HORRIBLY in the process! Dr. Rhea CAN BE a bit condescending when you first meet him, PROBABLY due to people ALWAYS trying to get PAIN MEDS with NOTHING WRONG with them! BUT, he is SO GREAT AFTER you are confirmed to actually NEED him. He even prayed with me on many visits, and he is FUNNY, COMPASSIONATE, TAKES TIME EVERY TIME, and he fought on the phone making my insurance pay for drugs that are really expensive, BUT MY LIFE DEPENDED ON THEM! He ISN'T ALWAYS chipper and nice, BUT he does what he is paid to do, and that's find a treatment so you can get your life back! THAT'S WHAT MATTERS. I LOVE ALL HIS STAFF, and you must remember they are only human, and have moody days too! He is WONDERFUL!

Solved My Issue
I went to him with thumb pain that had lasted for months no matter what I tried. I feared I would be told this was another gift of aging. However, he gave me an injection and splinted my thumb for 48 hours. In a week, the pain was gone, never to return.

Very Good Doctor
I suffered with debilitating pain from what I now know was Polymyalgia Rheumatica for several months before I was finally referred to Dr Rhea. From the time I arrived until the time I left the parking lot of his office was one hour. One hour! It only took him one hour to examine me, talk with me about all my symptoms, make an initial diagnosis, order blood work, and call in a prescription that gave me relief within 2 days. My daughter was amazed! The blood work was ready within a few days and it confirmed his initial diagnosis. His office followed up with me in a very timely manner. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Rhea. He gave me my life back.

Mean and expensive
I was referred by my primary care after being diagnosed with a fairly newly discovered rheumatoid issue. Dr Rhea began the visit by asking me what made me think I should be there, let me know he thought the condition my doctor sent me for was not worth diagnosing, and then said he thought I (28F) looked too good to have any real medical issue. I’ve had chronic pain and fatigue for ~10 years (and a diagnosis from the bloodwork my PC ran) but apparently if you look okay on the outside that’s nothing to worry about. He finally conceded to running my blood work “if you really insist” and then the nurse called and said “doctor Rhea would like me to let you know that he doesn’t feel any of your blood work could cause your SUPPOSED symptoms”. It’s been almost a year since the appointment and I am STILL getting bills. I don’t understand why I keep getting charged extra 30/50/100$ at random intervals and no one in the office will explain but tell me it will be sent to a debt collector if unpaid

Interesting enough I had to get approved for an appointment. I was approved and I assumed he could help me. Looked at previous lab work asked what I was told my diagnosis was previously and laughed. Told me my previous physician was wrong to stop all meds and handed me a sample to take. Did not examine me asked about four questions and sent me for a couple of lab tests. Almost three weeks passed and medical assistant calls and tells me that I need to get results from primary care doctor.

Initial appointment for OA, RA, Reynaud's and Fibromyalgia took 3 months to set. First thing Dr. Rhea said to me was: "Why are you here if you have Fibromyalgia? I don't treat that. I can't do anything for you. You need a Neurologist." What? I was diagnosed in 2000 with Fibromyalgia and have ALWAYS been treated for that by Rheumatologists! He never offered to refer me to anyone else; basically said good luck and walked out. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL BY DR. RHEA. No referral for him to anyone.

Went to see Dr. Rhea after my ortho was unable to resolve my concerns over about a year or so. With a referral it took about 2 months to get in, but at the initial visit he was able to diagnose my condition as Psoriatic Arthritis. After a week on the proper meds I am doing MUCH better thanks to him.

New paitent consult lasted 15 minutes. Listed about 4 symptoms before stopping me... had roughly 25 on my list. Didn't ask me about my family hisotry or any additional information. Changed my diagnosis from previous doctors after only looking at a handful of medical results from my previous doctors. Did no bloodwork himself. What a joke...
