Dr. Christian Latham, MD

I was referred to Dr. Latham for removal of a glass shard from my finger. He first asked if I had an x-ray, even though my primary care dr. had already sent them an x-ray. He said, 'Well, I have a live x-ray machine that guides me in the procedure. I will be able to get it out no problem.' After the procedure, he came in and said 'I got it all.' That was all that was said, and he left. When I was fully awake from the anesthesia, I realized that a cloth band-aid was used to 'dress' the incision. When I went back for the follow-up, the N.P. said 'It was strange that he wasn't able to find any glass.' So at that point, I went back to my G.P. and got another x-ray -- which clearly showed the glass shard still in place. It looked exactly the same as the former x-ray, except possibly a few millimeters to the left when the 2 x-rays were viewed side-by-side. My insurance company has issued a letter of complaint. The glass has now been in my finger btwn 5-6 weeks, with infection.

I had to have Surgery to finish and repair what might have not been done well 5 years ago. I was referred to Dr. Latham from Dr. Terri Blackstock whom I also really like and respect. Dr. Latham makes you feel like you are his only patient. He is relaxed, talks slowly, and gives you a chance to ask questions. He never makes you feel hurried. I saw him more times before and after Surgery than I have ever seen any other Doctor. Very attentive and caring, always smiling.
