When the Hippocratic oath gets left behind
My teenage daughter has moderate scoliosis; she was referred to Dr. Russo. Honestly, our experience with her was horrific. Dr. Russo showed us the X-ray and said, 'You'll live and die this way.' Dr. Russo's behavior displayed complete disregard for my daughter's well-being upon hearing the prognosis. But most importantly, she did not care about providing helpful information, such as the probability of success of physical therapy. She seemed bothered by general questions. We left traumatized and with no understanding of how her many grades of spinal curve may affect her future. The rest of the Methodist Hospital personnel, especially the radiologists and the nurse practitioner, treated us with dignity and respect.

Exceptionally caring doctor
When your child has an injury, it can be extremely stressful. Dr. Russo makes the whole family feel at ease and goes above and beyond to make sure the proper tests are done for an accurate diagnosis. When we had some MRI scheduling issues with our son, Dr. Russo stepped in to help us resolve the problem. She’s a great pediatric orthopedist, and in addition, a real human!

Fantastic experience
Dr. Russo treated my 5 year old daughter when she broke her arm— from aligning it and putting it in her cast the first night through multiple follow ups to ensure it was healing.Scheduling was easy and Dr. Russo was on time and friendly each time. It’s clear she’s a mom and she offered warm practical suggestions at every step. Highly recommend. She helped make a bad situation feel not so bad after all.

Extremely pleased
I couldn’t be happier with any other doctor. The care, understanding, support and precise communication I received from Dr. Russo and her team was impressive. Dr. Russo was kind and straight to the point, she answered all of my questions and discussed a plan for my son’s thigh surgery. Dr. Russo made sure my son was comfortable with the surgery and answered his questions as well. I was especially impressed with the response time in which Dr. Russo, herself, got back to me, I felt that she made a point to answer all my questions and made me feel at ease, and her team made sure to check up on my son before and after his surgery. I would DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Russo, and give her and her team 10 STARS!!Dr. Russo I can’t thank you enough for everything you did from the consultation of my son’s injury through the surgery.

Left knee pain with swelling.
My daughter and I came to the office for help with her left knee swelling that we thought was a fracture from Harlem hospital x-ray results. I brought the CD and Dr. Russo told us that it was not a fracture and she diagnoses what was the cause of the swelling. She was professional and nice as well as the Asian NP that assisted her. The clinic was clean, the rest of the staff was helpful too. I would recommend Dr. Russo

Would not recommend
Dr. Russo was extremely rude and dismissive. We were referred to her by our pediatrician & were unexpectedly advised by her office for our infant to undergo x-rays. We had concerns and Dr. Russo and her staff were short, impatient and out right rude to my husband and infant as we had concerns about him being exposed to radiation. They threatened to cancel our appointment on the spot. Absolutely would not go back to her again or recommend anyone her.

Shockingly rude
I asked her if my daughter needed to have a 4th x-ray (just wanting to know if there was any way to check the healing progress with exercises or touch). I was expecting her to reassure me that it's safe, and to tell me that it was the best way to really understand how well the bone has healed - but instead she basically told me if we don't get the x-ray, then we can leave. She bluntly said there is "no point in having this appointment without the x-ray," without a single word of reassurance or bedside manner. It was a shocking and sudden response of rudeness and aggression that was totally unexpected and actually made me feel sick to my stomach. I'm just a worried mom trying to take the best care of my precious child. Then after we did get the x-ray she was too impatient to address my questions - her lovely nurse carefully went over everything and the x-ray technician reassured me that the radiation was safe. It's a shame because everyone else was so lovely.

I couldn't be more satisfied with Dr. Russo's service. During our consultation(after bring referred and her agreeing with the diagnosis) she made sure that not only did my daughter know exactly wrong with her ankle but my wife and I as well. She was compassionate and warm, so much so that my daughter went from crying when she first heard "surgery" to actually smiling at the end. Both she and her assistant Judy told us what to expect and setup the surgery at Methodist hospital in Brooklyn. Everything went exactly as she said it would and she called my personal cell phone the next day to follow-up on my daughter's status. Overall I wish I could give her 10 stars to counter some of these other reviews.

TERRIBLE. I am a high school basketball/baseball coach for 25 years so i know about doctors and injuries to kids. I took my daughter to Dr Russo when she injured her knee. Gave no direction, just said go to physical therapy. Was not working and i wanted an MRI which she agreed. I called the doctor FOUR TIMES over 10 days to get/discuss results. Never a call back. Not once. I finally went to get the results myself and it shows my daughter has patella alta. YOU HEAR THAT DR RUSSO, MY DAUGHTER HAS PATELLA ALTA. Not like she cares. Never would i go back there, nor would recommend this Dr. to anyone that actually cares about kids- she doesnt. Again, i am a NYC HS sports coach and teacher. She is BAD.

I echo the reviews that say Dr. Russo is rude. It was easy to get an appointment and the support staff (front desk, x-ray technicians) were great but the doctor was terrible. I felt like I was immediately wasting her time as soon as she opened the door and she offered NO help or direction at all. Incredibly unprofessional and I left there with the impression that she thought she was better than helping my son and I, even though I was referred by our pediatrician.

Worst experience with any Dr's office is w/Dr.Russo Her nd the office has 2 weeks to inform me if anything is needed for the next visit! Instead I was informed on 2 separate occasions the day and time of my appointment the very moment I walked in the door I was informed my child needed extra things. On one occasion the Dr knew we were there and she LEFT b4 seeing my child so my baby had to wait another 2 weeks to see her. AND DONT RESPOND BACK U WASTED my TIME and U knew my baby had A CAST ON!!!

Dr. Russo is a kind and caring professional. She took wonderful care of my son when he fractured his ankle. Both my son and I felt very comfortable during our visits with Dr. Russo. She took the time to explain everything to us and took extra care to speak with my son and show him how to take care of himself to get on the road to a speedy recovery! I would highly recommend Dr. Russo-she is truly a fantastic doctor!
