Completely dismissive if it's not simple GERDs
At first I thought Dr. Hyun could help me with some severe abdominal pain, uncontrolled vomiting and prolonged fatigue. He seemed engaged and willing to get to the bottom of my symptoms. He originally said he would do some diagnostics then if he couldn't find a diagnosis he would send me to a neurologist. Instead he ordered several expensive tests for GERDs and IBS and found nothing. He then gave me no recommendations or referrals. He abandoned me and left me with over $5000 in bills. I saw him for several procedures and visits and he became more and more dismissive. I still am experiencing severe issues to this day. I suggest going to a dietitian (I got the referral from my primary since Hyun is no help). The dietitian at least gave me a diet I can follow that relives some symptoms. Dr. Hyun did nothing for me. I now have an unaffordable monthly payment to Dr. Hyun's office. I cannot stress enough not to go to this doctor. Completely dismissive if it's not simply GERDs.

I explained my gastrointestinal symptoms and how long they'd been going on, and his first question was about whether I'd ever experienced trauma. Listen, I understand that we need to take a holistic approach and everything, but also - maybe get to know the patient a little better before asking sensitive questions? Ended up getting a second opinion and treatment elsewhere.

Unprofessional
I say dr. Hyun about 3 months ago and he said I needed a endoscopy. I never heard back from him and my primary said it should not take as long as they said it was going to be! When I called today to check in on what he said he was going to do, the receptionist was incredibly rude and said “well your doctor doesn’t have access to that” as if I also don’t see a cardiologist who works inside ers and also said the same thing my primary did! This place is incredibly unprofessional and I should have listened to the reviews! The Oregon clinic is way better and knows how to speak to patients correctly! Literally all I wanted to know if if he was doing his job because every other doctor I have says the opposite of what dr hyun told me! Save yourself months of time and money and don’t go to this clinic

Fine if you've done it all before
My GI issues have been really scary, we even went through a Cancer scare. When I got to Dr. Hyun's appointment he explained that he was just a GI doctor (insinuating, he couldn't help me with my mental condition of bipolar- just because im stressed out doesnt mean im going to be crazy? If you're that sensative to folks who are mentally ill, maybe dont be a doctor?). He rushed things, made me feel bad, competed with me about every little thing- he HAD to be right and just flat out did not have any time to explain anything about the procedure that he wanted to do. I had to almost physically sit him down and ask him what he thinks is going on with me AFTER he barely answered anything about the procedure he wants to do. The nurse should be given raises and holiday bonuses forever. She was kind, considerate, and helped me feel confident that I would never, ever, let that man compete to be right in my presence again let alone perform a procedure on my body.

It’s been about 1 year since Dr Hyun did a scope of my esophagus and stomach. I was experiencing acid reflux and thought I should get it checked out. Prior to surgery I was told he would take biopsy if needed so I authorized it not realizing that I was going to be in worse shap afterwards. He advised he had snipped a ring in my throat, and stomach acid would not pool up. Now the acid flows freely and I am having major problems. He prescribed pills and I have to take everyday before meals or I cannot swallow food! I don’t recommend this to anyone.
