Condescending
I went in to see Dr. Gawthrop for pain behind my left ear and some swallowing issues. He did order a scan and do a scope in the office. But the thing that left a bad taste in my mouth - he asked me about other symptoms I have. I have a lot of weird symptoms throughout my body and have been suffering for years. I started listing them and he laughed at me and cut me off and acted like it was all in my head. He seemed arrogant, not compassionate.

He reviewed my pet scan with me examined both side
He was reassuring, requested a biopsy, called to say the biopsy was clear and said he'd send me a reminder to make a follow-up appointment for one year.

I suggest finding another practice from the start
My experience was not good to say the least. See the review from the 60 year old Aug 13, 2021. That person describes it accurately. I've had about 4 calls with Christine so far and she has been really rude and short with me every time as well as talking over me and not allowing me to complete my questions. Not sure if he is a good MD or not, hard to tell so far. Save yourself stress of dealing with this office staff while you're sick and feeling rotten already and find a different practice from the start.

I have not had my appointment yet but I wanted to review the scheduling process. Without a doubt, this was the WORST experience that I have had scheduling a doctor's appointment in my almost 60 years on this earth. I had left a message with their answering service over 48 hours ago and did not get a return call so I called again. The office picked up. Rude is an understatement; constantly re-asking the same question.....6 times; and getting upset with me when I asked for a different date from her initial suggested appointment due to a conflict were all part of that call. However, when I asked about any paperwork that needs to be completed prior to the appointment, I was told that I should complete four of the forms on their website. I noted that there were six listed and asked which four to complete, the response I got was "then fill them all out. Goodbye" That's a quote!!! I hope the appointment goes better than this.

I saw Dr. Gawthrop in June for tinnitus. He asked me why I came to him first without first going to my primary. I didn't understand that. He also told me "its not my ears" and "go see your primary". He acted as if my suffering was no big deal. Weeks later I found another very good ENT who is helping me. This good ENT is seeing me weekly to do hearing tests and put me on a steroid to help with the inflammatory response caused to my system after getting the vaccine. I WILL NEVER GO TO DR GAWTHOP AGAIN.

I really liked Dr Katin and Dr Gawthrop. I have had a history of sinus problems and nose bleeds. Today I had a very bad nose bleed and the office girls turned me away with arrogance. I had to go to the ER which cost me over $500.00. They told me you can't come in the office with an active nose bleed, when previously they told me, its easier to see it when its actively bleeding. The ENT at the hospital said to call their office any time I have an active nose bleed. Today I found my new ENT.

I just got surgery done with Dr. Gawthrop and I have never felt better!! I can finally breath through my nose more than I ever could before and my sinus and allergy problems have completely subsided. He is absolutely amazing and I wish all doctors were as great as him! He genuinely cares about his patients and is so knowledgeable. I have never trusted a doctor as much as I trust him! He explains everything thoroughly and has the most amazing bedside manner. Definitely the best ENTdoctor around!

Dr. Gawthrop is very personable and was available for anything I needed. I was able to call him on a Saturday and he returned all my phone calls within a few hours. I truly felt like he cared and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. I wish all doctors were as wonderful as he is! His staff is also very friendly and sweet. I highly recommend this office!

I met with Dr. Gawthrop about my sinuses and allergies. he diagnosed me with polyps, we scheduled surgery, had it done, and it CHANGED my life! He and his staff are caring, enthusiastic about what they do, and excellent at what they do!! Would recommend Dr. Gawthrop to everyone with any issue with Ear, Nose and Throat!
