Rude and unhelpful
Went to look at iud options and felt pressured by her to get it that day, told me to just take over the counter pain medicine. When I asked questions she made me feel so stupid. The process was pretty painful and she didn’t talk me through anything she was doing. I kept asking if we were almost done and she just wouldn’t reply. She yelled at me for not breathing slow enough while I was in excruciating pain. After it was over and she left the room I was uncontrollably sobbing, and it wasn’t really because of the pain, it was because I felt so degraded. I don’t like to write reviews but I just don’t want any other young woman who is nervous about this experience to have to go through this.

Dr. Chai is very knowledgeable and thorough. She doesn't rush appointments and answers any questions. She can appear to be very serious/clinical but I have found her to have a good sense of humor. If warm and fuzzy is what you want in gynocologist then she's not for you.

Recently had a colposcopy. She wouldn't give me any numbing anything (told me I was going to only experience some cramping and maybe some discomfort) when the paperwork I was handed in their office said a numbing agent was used. It was very painful and I was in tears. She told me "you must have a sensitive cervix." Didn't really seem to care. Just whatever benefits her is the right way I guess. My friend had the same procedure done elsewhere and was numbed.

Couldn't give a 0. Dr. Chai is emotionless. Not sympathetic to any situation or illness I have. I'm not asking to be treated like a baby, but to show some concern. She doesn't explain my results very well or at all. And when I ask questions, acts as though I was born without any intelligence. It looked like she was about to laugh one time at one of the questions I had for her prior to a surgery. Doesn't explain possible side effects and seems to argue with me and won't let me speak. Could go on.

This summer she completed a test for vaginitis, etc when I was newly pregnant and it hurt. Nobody has ever hurt me with a Pap smear. When I said it hurt she replied, you must have a sensitive uterus. Unfortunately, I've had to see her a few more times. Most recently at 36 weeks pregnant. She measured my uterus and it hurt. I've seen all of the other midwives and doctors in this practice and not one hurt me measuring my belly.
