I received an $800 bill, which she shouldn't have charged me, according to my insurance provider, because she billed them too. She over charges for hidden cost (i.e., new customer), without revealing the charge upfront. Then she charged me for faulty X-ray, which was their fault, and charged me twice ($300). Then she performed an Ultrasound and charged me $410. Then she suggested for me to take CT scan which would have cost around $3000, but I decided not to take. She spent a total of 20 minutes and still did not give me a diagnosis. When I called my care provider insurance, they said they should not have charged any of those costs, and they called her office and removed these over charges.

Thoughtful, , informative, careful and pleasant during the visits. Great results from the first carpal tunnel surgery on one wrist. Planning to have the second one done soon.

The doctor was efficient and professional. She diagnosed my problem and treated me quickly. However, she took the time to answer all my questions and took care while giving me an injection in my hand.

Dr. Root was excellent! Diagnosed my problem quickly, confirmed with an x-ray and treated me with a cortisone shot. After many months, I am getting relief. Importantly, she took the time to explain everything thoroughly which I really appreciated. Office staff and technicians also were excellent! I highly recommend Dr. Root and while I’m optimistic about my treatment, I would not hesitate to see her again if I needed to.

My experience was very favorable, from a careful diagnosis to successful surgery. Was treated with great professionalism and friendly, supportive care. Only wish, if the surgery were in a hospital closer to where I live.

I initially saw Dr. Root about 5 years ago when I wanted a second opinion on a wrist injury. My first impression was that she was an incredibly skilled doctor and very intelligent. So when I had trouble with the other wrist, there was no doubt as to which doctor I would go to. She quickly assessed my wrist and gave me options that included an MRI. The next visit, as we discussed the MRI results, I mentioned the previous (opposite) wrist injury. She changed her thought process to evaluate bo

My mother fell and broke her wrist. We were recommended to Dr. Root by the hospital emergency room staff. Though she had a busy schedule she worked us in so we could be seen quickly. She was very kind and gentle with my mother, which I greatly appreciate. My mother can be difficult to work with but Dr. Root took her time and explained everything so my mother was more comfortable. We had several follow up visits and we could not be happier with our service and care from the entire staff.

My dissatisfaction is not so much with this doctor as it is with her office and their customer service. My entire family frequent the Nirchl Orthopedic practice. We changed our health insurance to be more available to them. When I called in urgent need of an appointment for a hand injury, I was told that I would be treated like a "new patient" since I hadn't seen her in 5 years. I had see two other doctors in that practice less than 3 months earlier. The receptionist was curt and unkind.
