I thought Dr. Barlis was a kind and patient doctor so this review is more for the practice. After getting hit by a drunk driver in a car accident I had hoped I would be able to visit my primary care doctor to check how I was doing and have some stitches removed. Instead they refused to even see me because I was in a car accident. I ended having to be treated at a walk in clinic. Warning for anyone looking for a family doctor.

If I could have given a zero, I would have. Dr barlis doesn’t care about her patients. She didn’t give permission to do a pre authorization to my new insurance co. For a prescription she gave me, a medicine I’ve been on for years, a medicine she refilled for me many times. So now I need to wait for this pre authorization to go thru while I am suffering for not having my medicine everyday. I’ll be finding a new doctor.

She is very particular about her appointment timing but she does not care if you wait endlessly at her office for a scheduled appointment. Wait times are over 30 minutes and her front-office staff is rude. There is always a trainee doc in the room and they do not take your permission to walk-in a trainee doc. She spends very little time with the patient and her nurses are really rushing through every appointment.

Cara Barlis, MD is wonderful. While I have a psychiatrist, an oncologist, and many other specialists, Dr. Barlis is my physician, and she is a great one. Her kindness, compassion, patience and knowledge, and the her willingness to successfully support and assist me through complex medical and insurance company challenges has been extraordinary. I am so grateful for her and her excellent staff.
