PUT IN AN EFFORT AT LEAST
He is representative of why peoplle dont like doctor care today. After hanging with his assistant for almost 25 minutes, who was sweet besides yawning like she needed a nap, he graced me with his presence like he was a lead singer of some big group I wanted to meet. Young, arrogant, no questions no real amswers...just loaded me up with prescriptions, more tests I need to do, for something I already knew I had and then walked out and left me with an outake nurse who looked at me like i just crapped on her desk. I just left knowing im never going back there. I have an amazing orthopedist in the city but thought it might be nice to find a #2 local....well I guess I'm heading to the city as i realize more and more, if you love your doc..hold on tight because so many are like this guy! I will say, they have sweet support staff besides the aforementioned outake nurse, so there's that. Not enough for me to return or hopefully you! Bye!

I went with back pain that I've had for decades but was escalating recently. He walked in, gave me his business card and proceeded to sit at the computer and speak only to the nurse or PA (not sure). Actually said to me that unless I had a time machine, my back was not going to get better. Then he said that no matter what I did, I was looking at major back surgery in 5-15 years. Very condesending and very full of himself. I knew before I even left the office that I would not be returning. Happened to speak with a friend who had also been to him and she said her experience was equally as bad and she too was never going back.

Left me in worse pain after surgery
I saw the doctor for 2 visits and was scheduled for back surgery. I felt similar pain after surgery, which only got worse over the next 6-12 months.Doctor was unwilling to offer other options.Saw another specialist who corrected what previously wasnt and my pain was completely gone in 1-2 months.

Thorough!
He asked great trigger questions and explained what was going on in my spine and what the plan is. He is also a very good listener and showed interest in listening to my extensive medical history. The wait was a little longer than I expected but well worth It.

Worst
Dr. Mercer didn’t care. We came in for an issue with my mother’s neck and spine curving down, but he never actually checked the spine and neck at all. All he did was examine reflexes on her fingers and then say nothing can be done, with no plan to improve her lifestyle or pain. He said that usually once in a wheel chair, nothing can be done. The fact that he didn’t even examine or touch her neck was concerning. Perhaps physical therapy would help even a little with the neck stiffness . It’s amazing how a neck and spine diagnosis can be concluded only with finger reflexes and a review of an X-ray. No heart or care.

I would give him zero stars but that isn’t an option. Cold, uncaring, abrupt, condescending and rude. This is coming from a RN.
