Stay away
I went into DOC for lower back pain and had an x ray and MRI done and I was told not even by Dr. Frank, because he never meets with his patients, but sends in his PA, that my discs were deteriorating and that I needed an ablation procedure to burn off my nerves to help with the pain. I came back and told them that it didn't work at all so then he ordered an epidural. I went to a neurosurgeon for a second opinion and he came back and said that my discs were perfectly healthy and he has no idea why this procedure was ordered in the first place. If you want a trust worthy doctor, I would stay far away. Dr. Frank brushes off his patients and doesn't even bother getting face time with them.

Long wait, unhelpful advice, disorganized staff
The staff assured me before the appointment that they'd get my x-rays from my other physician. The Direct Orthopedic Care staff dropped the ball here, but still charged me to take another set of x-rays. Afterward, they kept me waiting an hour before I finally saw Dr. Frank. We looked at the x-rays together and he admitted he'd "never seen" the issue I had before, but had read about it. Then he suggested two alternatives: physical therapy, or prodding me with needles and burning off nerve tissue in a "guess-and-check" style approach. He declined my request for an MRI, which is a far less invasive procedure. I chose to go with their in-house physical therapy. Their therapist (Dr. Yohe) screwed up my back even more than it was before, performing an "adjustment", which is a barbaric, unscientific, dangerous practice. I highly discourage anyone from coming to Direct Orthopedic Care, nor any of the medical professionals who work here.

I had a procedure of nervous block. I never met him before as I was visiting his PA. On my procedure day I met his first time. He was nice Dr but the think disturb me that after procedure he didn't came to check on me, how I was doing? Do I need to followup appointment. What will be the after effects? How long would the injection take to work . It's my 3 day after procedure I am not feeling well weakness, dizziness and nausea. I called his office but they didn't have me any good reason about my health issues.

I had a trial spinal cord stimulator installed on a Thursday, extreme pain in lower back, stimulator helps legs, back is in worse, horrible pain, I called office. ..Dr Frank suggests I call Boston Dynamics to ask about adjustment, they think it is procedural pain, call Dr back....please can I have something, extreme pain in back, we'll call back. No call, no meds, no relief,...5pm office closed no after hrs ...so now I'm screwed for painful weekend. ..Zero sympathy or care..I'm done with this.

I have only had one appointment with him, but it will most likely be the only one. I have been in chronic pain for many years. I am looking for a new Dr, so I went to see him. I have been on narcotic medication for years and the first thing he said was that he didn't prescribe any opioids, so if I was only there for that, then he couldn't help me.

Dr.Frank is a life saver!!! He has pieced me back together and handed me my life back! I have been his patient for two years, as he patiently treated each one of my symptoms. He and all of his staff members always greet me with a positive upbeat attitude, and they also offer options!! He is not this, "just take this pill and come back and see me type doctor." He is the " The let's find the root or cause of your pain and we will treat it the best way." type of doctor.

I was a Patient of Dr. Frank for a few years before I finally decided to leave his practice. I felt that he never listened to me and would never follow up on what he said he was going to do. He really made sure to make me feel horrible for being in pain. If I missed an appointment due to traveling for work, I couldn't reschedule for weeks which would put me in withdraw. Any Doctor that would do that to his patients doesn't care!

APA has been sold to a larger group; my dr was not included in the sale; I switched to Frank as he is a main ptr . Two main issues 1. "You will always be in pain" so no need to see him unless that becomes much different and 2. Waited 4.5 hrs to see him. I later talked to the office about the difficulties seeing a dr so far away that makes you wait so long "he just spends so much time w his pts". The block he insisted I try (different from the ones my dr had been doing): no help, worse!!

I became a patient of Dr Frank this year when I moved to Texas and immediately felt uncomfrotable with him and his PA assistant. They made me feel like a criminal and I do not mean with the testing and counting the pills, that is necessary, I mean the condescending attitude. A procedure he performed gave me such extreme pain that I could NOT move from my bed but they required that I go into the office for pain medication. I am now treated at a different practice in town- what a difference!

I was with Dr. Frank for a year. During that year I was in constant pain. He did not listen to my concerns about the medications that were being prescribed. He constantly contradicted himself. Working with Dr. Frank has left me feeling hopeless and even more depressed about my pain.
