As a patient of Dr. Amasha and his team for several years, I have trusted in his capacity to treat me in a manner that does not require the use of opiate medications.

r. Raimy Amasha of Capitol Pain Institute has very little regard for his patient’s lives outside of his office, or possibly, certain patients. It’s not clear to me. Does he evaluate his patients as a whole? Patients go to see their doctors with hope that he or she will provide the means for a better quality of life. It’s not just about the ailment/diagnosis. And any biases a doctor has personally, should have no influence on their decisions to provide treatment. My husband had an appointment to see Dr. Amasha, but instead he sees his nurse, since Dr. Amasha was in surgery that day. My husband explains to the nurse his ongoing issue of radiating back pain & the severity of it. The previously intermittent pain he c/o is now constant & interfering with his ability to do his job daily. Also, his pain scale, which she never asked, is now ranging from 7-10 of 10 with OTC meds & his urgency to urinate is frequent. He leaves the appointment w/ no prescribed meds...

What happened to him? Was my favorite doc ever. I had surgery three times and the ER prescibed some meds after I got a shot. He just dumped me without finding out about the ER. I was heartbroken. I guess some of it was my fault for hurting so much. I should have had more surgery I guess. I didn't know what to do but to go to the ER in such dire circumstances. Something must have happened to him to cause him to be so hard nosed when before he was kind and compassionate.

Up until Christmas 2018 I thought he walked on water. I have been with Capitol Pain since 2011 and never abused my medications. Seems his own CYA skills now trumps his character. Threw me under the bus at 70 years old because I am opioid dependent and now he considers me a liability. What a high disappointment !!!

Outstanding. The best doctor I have seen for pain management - hands down. He comprises individualized management plan and wants to help you. I have read the other reviews and find the ones that are not flattering to be outright not true. I have also seen this doctor for years and never once found him uncaring or out for money - in fact has chosen a reasonable and practical approach. Sorry BobATX. 5 Stars - and would give 6 if I could. Keep up the great work Dr A - and thank you!!

Saw Dr. Amasha monthly for extreme hip pain. Originally very understanding, but began pushing a joint injection. I told Dr. Amasha that my ortho Dr. (highly rated) had just given me a totally ineffective steroid shot. Dr. Amasha told me my condition was totally treatable (by him) and again pushed HIS injection. He insultingly told me he would not renew my 5/325 Norco and that he was not a opioid pusher. I am 70 and taken opioids for yrs w/o addiction. Apparently injections are more lucrative.
