Dr.Yim did an emergency venous sinus thrombectomy on me in the middle of the night and called my family to say everything went well. In my opinion Dr Yim is a highly competent neurosurgeon, highly educated and a good communicator.

Dr Yim is a cerebrovascular expert. After my diagnosis, we asked our friends and family to help get some background on him, and he's well-liker and respected in the neurologist community. He has a very calm and confident manner that makes it easy to trust his judgment, and he explains his decisions clearly.

Super kind super surgeon
Doctor Jim called me while I was driving to the hospital and explained what he needed to do to save my husband brain after a stroke right away. After the surgery he showed us the pictures of the blood vessels restoration. Just amazing. He took his time explaining what exactly he found and how to proceed. I am so grateful for his expertise and his kindness. I am forever grateful and would highly recommend Doctor Jim for his unbelievable skill as a surgeon.

Best of The Best
My two brothers, both had brain aneurysms that bursted on them. So as the third sibling, my brain was checked and sure enough I also had a brain aneurysm. Dr. Benjamin Yim came very highly recommended from my primary care physician. I now know why. Dr. Yim is very professional, caring, assuring, knowledgeable, and understands the emotional side the patient is going through in treatment for a brain aneurysm. Prior to the actual procedure Dr Yim came in contact with me and explained what the procedure will entail. He discusses the pros and cons and assured me if there were hurdles to overcome during the procedure, he will take no unnecessary risks. If the rating is on a 1 to 10 stars, 10 being the highest, I would give Dr. Yim 10 stars times 10!Definitely the best of the best!

Utmost Gratitude
An MRI showed I had a steadily growing mass, pressing against my brain. Dr. Yim performed the removal with meticulous precision. My head feels back on track, and because of how painstakingly thorough he was with the procedure, there was no need for radiation.

Outstanding Technique. Confident!
My interaction with Dr Yim was the result of an automobile accident. A post accident revealed a tumor I was unaware existed. Over 25 years ago I sold and trained physicians to utilize a piece of technology called the CUSA which is a very sophisticated machine to remove tumors and tissue. During my pre op conversation, I asked Dr Yim if he was familiar with this and I was shocked that not only was he aware, and highly trained, he was going to use this technology very confidently. He had the latest and greatest in the OR prepped and ready to use on my case. His professionalism exceeded my expectations and his kind bedside manor gave my family confidence that meant the world at the most frightening time in our lives. Dr. Yim’s technique enabled him to do a complete and thorough and my healing has been painless. The post op care was well explained, and planned to a tee. Today at my follow up his records were meticulously prepared. I had the best care in the east bay available.

Best Neuro surgery care in East Bay! – Aug 16, 2023

Highly Recommended
I suffered from a slow bleed subdural hematoma as a result of a fall several months ago and was having difficulty with my balance and completing my thoughts and sentences I was admitted to the hospital pending test results when Dr. Yim was assigned as my neurosurgeon. Early the next morning, my family and I met with Dr. Yim; he was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and put us at ease. He took the time to go over my condition in detail, answered our concerns in clear and understandable language and discussed my options. That same morning, Dr. Yim performed what I consider to be minimally invasive surgery to relieve the pressure on my brain caused by the bleeding. Everything went exceptionally well and I am on my way to full recovery. I have complete confidence in his skills as a neurosurgeon and would highly recommend his services to patients in need.

He is my hero!
Dr. Yim is the best neurosurgeon that I’ve ever been a patient of. I suffered from a stroke and hospital tests showed I also had an aneurysm. Dr Yim clearly explained the risks and benefits for procedures to deal with both of these complications, made things easy to understand, and answered all of our questions. He was able to correct my severe vertebral artery stenosis and repaired my posterior communicating artery aneurysm. If I could mark more stars I would. He saved my life and I would highly recommend Dr. Yim for any neurological procedures.

My husband had a large brain tumor, and we talked to 4 different neurosurgeons prior to choosing Dr. Benjamin Yim. Dr. Yim is a neurosurgeon as well as a vascular surgeon, and he performed a procedure called embolization the day prior to scheduled brain surgery, to cut off blood supply to the tumor which in effect softens it and allows for faster removal with less bleeding. The surgery went well, and my husband is improving daily. Dr. Yim explained everything thoroughly, answered all questions, was responsive, and made this harrowing experience as easy as possible. I thoroughly recommend Dr. Yim if neurosurgery is required.
