Two New Hips
Dr. Ricciardi replaced my left hip in September 2023 and my right hip in April 2024. The first experience was very good, the second experience was great! I cannot believe how pain free and confident I am walking and moving around now with two good hips! For 72 years old, I now have the mobility I had at 40. Dr. Ricciardi is a fabulous surgeon with superior skills and top-level expertise, and he is always a pleasure in an office visit because I feel he listens carefully with kindness and patience. So fortunate he was my surgeon because Dr. Ricciardi is the best of the best! Linda K.

Excellent Recovery So Far - Glad I Chose Dr. R!!
So far so good. I am 4 wks postop with my new hip replacement and am really pleased with my recovery so far (I know I still have a long way to go). There are multiple things to like about Dr. R: very technical and professional, informative, mild-mannered (no pressure to operate whatsoever), let's you evaluate and make your own choice, and he instills a sense of confidence in the process going forward. I had my choice for an operation with a different Dr, but chose to stick with Dr. R's scheduled....and man am I glad so far. I hope to report back to this community next month, but again - so far so good.

Hip Replacement – Nov 12, 2023

Great Experience
Yes was my second hip replacement in two years. The first was a great experience and I healed very quickly the second which Dr. Ricciardi performed was even better. Less than three weeks out. I was walking over 10,000 steps a day.

Thank You Dr. Ricciardi
In September, Dr. Ricciardi performed a total hip replacement of my left hip via the anterior approach. The results of my surgery have given me a new lease on life and I will be forever grateful to him. In my early 70’s, I had experienced joint stiffness for years, but never imagined my x-rays would show severe arthritis in my left hip. Dr. Ricciardi, in his soft-spoken and compassionate manner, reviewed my x-rays with me and outlined my options. He was in no way pushy and let me decide when and what treatment I wanted. The worse part of hip surgery for me was the anticipation. … wondering what my life would be after. I am in awe of my results and realize that my surgery was performed by an outstanding surgeon. He is very serious about and dedicated to his specialty and continues to do research and publish in journals. Everyone I encountered in the hospital including my visiting nurses spoke very highly of him as a person and a skilled surgeon.

I had a total hip replacement two weeks ago at Highland Hospital's Evarts Joint Center. Dr. Ricciardi used the anterior approach. Right now I'm in a state of awe because of the rapid improvement in my quality of life! I'm basically pain free, a little sore at the incision site, but otherwise I'm a new woman. This after living for several years with severe pain due to a labral hip tear that led to bone on bone osteoarthritis. Dr. Ricciardi is an amazing surgeon! He has beautiful surgeon's hands and an impressive resume. He's beyond well trained. A quiet man in person, very professional, but a super hero in the operating room. I'm so happy to have my life back and can't wait to see where I'm at in another two weeks. All thanks to Dr. Ricciardi! The only thing that I would change was to have had the surgery sooner. It's truly miraculous for my life!

Dr. Ben Ricciardi possesses the very best technical skills and patient care skills possible. He is an extreme pleasure to work with. The OR nurses said he is very precise when I asked why am I pain free in recovery. I am an older person with +40 yrs as a machinist in utility industry. He did a complete hip replacement. The rating from me for Dr. Ricciardi is 10/10. We woke up in recovery pain free, and that continued. His staff (ie. PA, Nurses, Techs, X-Ray) is excellent to work with. They follow up with answers very quickly. I am very grateful that he agreed to work with me as a patient. Thank you very much for this forum. I used it when I was trying to find a doctor for surgery.

Dr. Ricciardi replaced both my hips. Right on May 15 and left on August 7. He is an amazing surgeon. I’ve heard from “insiders”, the people who work with him, that he is great to work for and meticulous in the way he does his job. My surgeries were perfect. I had no hip restrictions, full weight bearing immediately. At 4 weeks after the 2nd hip, I am walking without a cane or a limp. I needed minimal pan meds after and none now. I don’t have any more hips, but if I did, I’d go back to Dr. R!
