Inept Dermatologist
He has misdiagnosed me and cost me thousands to fix his medical mistakes. You should definitely not be practicing medicine.

Knowledgeable and passionate
I went to 5 other doctors for guttate psoriasis treatment before Dr. Marks. All of who were unable to diagnose or find a solution to my severe guttate psoriasis. Dr. Marks immediately identified my psoriasis, then took the time to explain my options and end up CLEARING my psoriasis. You can tell he is passionate about his field and cares about the treatment options for his patients. There is no better dermatologist!

Not a fan
He had pushed me off onto other doctors and refused to help me more than once now. Terrible bedside manner and not helpful whatsoever. I have psoriasis and he couldn’t even see it or acknowledge it.

Didn't feel like I received a quality exam
2-3 minutes for a total body scan. Had 2 questions regarding specific areas... they were quickly dismissed without even looking. Will not recommend or return. NW can and should do better.

Should have read the reviews first!!!
I was so desperate to see a dermatologist so I made an appointment with the only doctor available within 3 weeks. Drove 25 miles hoping to get some answers and much needed relief from the flare ups. The wait in the reception area was short but the visit with the doctor was even shorter. He barely looked at me, hardly asked any questions and didn't consult me at all. I was supposed to get a full body scan. I don't think he even did that because I don't recall him looking at anything except the rashes on my arms and legs. I definitely do not recommend him and needless to say I will not be returning. Good thing part of the bill was covered by insurance because his fees were just as much as a high-priced attorney.

Saw him for my hormonal acne once as a first time patient. He spent literally 10 minutes with me. Prescribed meds and flew out the door. I followed up a second time, comes in looking at his screen the entire time. No eye contact. He even seemed a bit bothered that he had to be in an appointment. Looked at my face from 5 feet away, refilled my rx and flew out the door. I had a question regarding a mole on my leg that I was going to ask and completely forgot. Not planning on returning to this doctor.

Went in for two things- after addressing one I was told I’d need to make an appointment for him to discuss the other issue I was having and then pay an additional copay. Who does this? Talk about a scam. He doesn’t care about patients. Just about making money. And his treatment is more than a little barbaric. Stay far far away!!

My experience with Dr. B.Mark was very unpleasant. I went to him to make a small surgery to remove a small ingrown pimple on my left thigh and after almost a month still dealing with another doctors to fix the problem that he created. Now I have infected, open wound. I would never recommend this doctor to any one.

He is a terrible Dermatologist. Did a very cursory review of my skin. He did not detect scaling in my eyebrows. He was in the exam room about 5 minutes and was singing the entire time. He is more into himself than into his patients. Why does Northwestern still have him?

Both times I saw this guy he rushed in and rushed out. Last time he literally spent no more than 3-4 minutes and glanced at my skin lesions for about 4-5 seconds, literally! Then he explained absolutely nothing, gave ma an Rx without explanation about why and rushed out the door. Two weeks later and I am still having problems and may see another dermatologist at Rush. Loyola or Advocate.

dr marks prescribed medication that was not covered by my insurance company. After speaking with my insurance company they told me they would cover it if the dr called them and explained why the medication he prescribed was better then the one they would cover. I asked him to call and he refused. He told me to just pay the $100. He was very rude and condescending. I don't know someone like that is allowed to continue practicing medicine. If I could rate him less than a 1, I would

Engages in conversation with the nurse and myself during surgery. I would have preferred that he exhibit more focus on the surgery. Upon suture removal, nurse takes off my bandage and almost gave a gasp... saying it was inflamed infected. Doctor comes in, saying, "What did you do?" (attempting sarcasm). A week later after sutures were removed, upon replacing bandages, I identified part of a suture that was not removed and I removed it. Also, multi-tasks with patients too much - felt rushed.

Knowledgeable doctor, however he quickly pushes you out of his office without answering questions, not to mention the fact that the medical office (Northwestern Medicine) charges over 3X as much as a different dermatology office has charged for an identical procedure.

The day of my appointment Dr Marks called me to move my appointment. He was unhelpful, didn't seem to care that I already took off work to go to my primary Dr. and derm appointment, both at Northwestern. He said he could move it to the morning but was unable to work with the other (primary Dr) in coordinating schedules. He was condescending and unapologetic for his team's scheduling error, and ended up asking I go elsewhere because it would be better for him.

Never in my life have I seen a doctor who spent less than 15 mins with a new patient especially when their medical issue was not a simple one . The staff put me in a room and asked my height , weight and if I needed a gown . No blood pressure, pulse or temp . I asked if she wanted my meds ,allergies and complete medical history and was told no the doctor would get that . He never took that info either ...
