Dear Dr Barton
thank you dr Barton for the care you provided me on may 4th 2020 you are forever in my thoughts as long as im in my right mind.... Thank you and your team for performing the triple bypass ...the chest tube between my ribs was the most painful of the whole experience i do not regret a thing.. also i would like to thank the lady in the care immediately after the surgery .. at UT she was most caring to make sure that pneumonia didn't set in.... Thanks

Dr. Barton was to say the least stuck in old ways and not progressive. I have had multiple heart surgeries prior to seeing Dr. Barton. I was told by Barton that there was nothing that could be done for me and that I should stay on medication to see if it solves the problem that a 3rd surgery was way to risky and death a high probability. After that apt I was left with no referrals or hope from him. After seeking out my own help Earlinger in Chattanooga is a true heart hospital and Dr. Poynter fixed what couldn't be fixed. My life was extended from a true doctor and not one that was setting me up for a slow death. I will never do any heart related procedures at UT ever again. If I could of given 0 stars I would have.

Dr Barton did my bypass surgery at Vanderbilt UMC. He was thorough and did a perfect job. My recovery was quick due to his explanation on what to do during the recovery period. Saved my life as did several doctors at VUMC. Well recommended.

I do NOT recommend this surgeon. Post surgery patient mistreatment is criminal. Please find another surgeon/hospital.
