Excellent doctor, takes time to speak with you, listens to your concerns and gives great advice, treatment, cares about your health issues. I have been going to Dr. Curreri for many years and highly recommend him plus his office staff is very friendly, courteous, and professional.

Fair. Seems disinterested
The wait is usually long. I can’t say any of his staff are friendly. And they never answer the phone. Dr. Curreri is nice, but doesn’t seem interested if you are older or you don’t t have serious eye problems. If you are a little older, all your eye concerns get dismissed as “aging.” Not good enough. Aging issues need to be stopped or slowed before they get worse, if possible. On my last annual exam, a few of the usual tests were skipped, (incl reading the eye chart!) If you ask questions his answers are very brief with little info. Hate to say it, but I think he’s disinterested unless there’s a possible surgery for him or a problem that involves many office visits. I won’t be going back.

Beware!
I will be treating the injury that happened during second cataract surgery for the rest of my life. Despite the pain and distorted vision, Dr. Curreri insisted it was healed and I should return in 6 months. (ME: "But it hurts and I can't see clearly" DR: "take something for the pain and come back in 6 months.") I went instead to another ophthalmologist who found severe fluid buildup in the back of that eye. She and another doctor, working in tandem, have been treating the issues, including beginning of glaucoma in that eye, and monitoring regularly. It's impossible to sue if you work freelance, since loss of income can't be proven. My complaint with NYS commission was rejected (after waiting 5 years) because of lack of evidence. Of course, they never asked for any of my medical records. I am a writer who has to work with one eye closed, so it doesn't look like my computer screen is as distorted as a fun house mirror.

Dr. Curreri was great! He was warm and friendly and spent time answering my questions and addressing all my concerns. He gave me detailed feedback and even provided me with a note about my issue for my employer. I was also impressed that practice uses a lot of high-tech robotics/new technology; It was kind of cool to see all that stuff in action. The medical assistants and reception staff were nice and welcoming and they're bi-lingual (speak Spanish).
