Telehealth
Today was my second time seeing Dr. Gentile. Today’s visit was a telehealth visit. My first visit was in his Manhattan office ( a 2-hour train ride for me) in February of this year. Today’s visit was regarding a combined surgery I had (3rd eye surgery overall) at a renowned eye hospital in Pennsylvania. I am currently eight weeks post-op and very upset, disappointed, and depressed over my vision, which I’ve been told ‘is what it is’ at this point. Dr. Gentile will help me. In his words – “Let’s move forward, not backwards”.I say without reservation that meeting Dr. Gentile is one of the best decisions I have ever made regarding my health. Dr. Gentile is personable, genuine and an excellent listener. He gives you his full attention. In addition, he is an excellent communicator. While he is direct and honest regarding diagnosis, he seemingly balances his delivery with grace. Every single staff member (esp.Kerry!) in his office is professional, personable, upbeat and attentive.

Thorough examination
I visited Dr. Gentile after a diagnosis o a macular hole. He was very thorough in his explanation and reassured me that the hole was a pseudo hole and that we would watch my macular degeneration. His explanation was the key to restoring my calm. I will follow his guidance and continue to see Dr. Gentile.

Surgery with a smile
I've been under Dr. Gentile's care and observation of a macular pucker that went from mild to moderately severe. I was unable to read the large letter on the eye chart. A month ago, Dr. Gentile performed a Vitrectomy. I went into surgery with confidence that I was in the best of hands. The surgery went extremely well, with no pain, and no bruising. You couldn't tell I had surgery. He made the surgery seem easy. My vision is restored to 20/25. I am still going through the healing process but I can read the small letters on the eye chart and signs at a distance where before the surgery I couldn't. Dr. Gentile's expertise and kind bedside manner are unmatched. He has a filled office and you have to wait long sometimes, but one of the reasons is that he takes great care in being attentive to every patient and makes you feel like you are his only. They say that doctors hire people with similar qualities to theirs, this is true of his staff. Kind, professional, and go the extra mile.

Smart Solutions Doctor
3 top notch doctors immediately recommended eye surgery as solution to serious macular diagnosis, Dr. Gentile went first with a non surgical approach of a regimen of multiple eye drops. And it was successful! This intelligent approach saved me from the surgery and an uncomfortable recuperation. Thank you Dr Gentile

Dr. Gentile and his team are excellent.
I had a Retina detachment while on vacation in Brazil. After visiting a local doctor it was confirmed that I had to do surgery asap. After the surgery I could not fly for 4 to 6 weeks so I would be stuck there. After some online research and reading the glowing reviews about Dr. Gentile I called his office and despite never been his patient they were extremely professional and accommodating. I got the first flight back home (NYC) and next day I was in Dr. Gentile’s office and did a Vitrectomy surgery 3 days later. Today, 23 days after surgery my vision is already 20/20, the same as had before on the eye that I had surgery, and as a bonus I have no more floaters. The outcome couldn’t have been better. Thank you very much Dr. Gentile and all his team for the professionalism and care with me.

I have seen Dr. Gentile for several years after 911 incident. He is an amazing doctor. He is attentive to the concern of his patients. He listens and answers all fears and questions about "what is going on" in the process of monitoring my eye sight for macular degeneration and retina screening. He is one of the best doctors I have who has given me treatment. I highly recommend. *******

Doctor Gentile is knowledgeable in his area. He is not the most caring or empathetic doctor though. It is hard to have eye problems as it is - this doctor doesn't really want to get involved just be aware feeling. Office staff is supercicial.

Looking for a surgeon who is the top in his profession. Dr. Gentile is not only knowledgeable but has the experience to be proficient in his field. I was comfortable enough to let him ( and Dr.Batta) do surgery on both eyes at the same time. Thank you.

Because of Dr. Gentile, I can see again. After suffering for 6 months of only being able to "see" light, I was introduced to Dr. Gentile. His calm manner and the warmness of his staff and himself made me believe that I might regain sight. After talking and explaining ever detail, we decided on surgery. Dr Gentile's skill as a surgeon are amazing. I can't possible say enough good things about him and his staff. Very dedicated team.
