Would NOT recommend!
Found Dr. Kivitz's focus more related to his personal agenda with research then providing quality patient care. Makes patient feel they are filling out paper work in regards to their plan of care, but actually his research. When addressing concern/question with Dr. Kivitz, he is quick to dismiss the question to point of being condescending. Staff without name tags on to disclose role. Staff offended when ask their name or position. Staff sitting around eating chips and drinking. Did not see one staff member/provider washing hands or practicing good hand hygiene. No gloves. Did see Angie, PA one visit and she was very thorough. Dr. Kivitz needs to focus first on his patient's care, then ask patient if they are interested in helping him with his research. His behavior is inappropriate and basically just rude. Please take my review to heart and find another doctor. As a health care professional myself, I would not recommend Dr. Kivitz. Basically felt like a specimen for his research.

Dr. Kivitz and his Staff are Top of the Profession
I have been a patient of Dr. Alan Kivitz for 18 years. Agressive Rheumatoid Arthritis. My mother died in 1970 of the disease within 6 years of diagnosis. He was brilliant and compassionate in his diagnosis and care. Dr. Kivitz also has research facilities and is thoroughly up to date on immune diseases and the new drugs to treat those diseases. I have been in a few studys and benefited greatly. He has followed my care closely and I am forever in his debt for keeping me active and alive.

He abandoned me as a patient when I lost my insurance. Would not treat me unless I came to see him even though I could not due to not having insurance or time off to do it. Diagnosed me in 5 min on my first visit but has done nothing to improve my condition. Seems as though its all about the money

He was dismissive of my symptoms and questions, and was unprofessional. He answered his personal cell phone in the middle of my appointment and spent a couple of minutes on the phone only to discover it was a wrong number dial. So disrespectful. He was also unwilling to run very simple tests to determine if my suspicions were correct about EDS since that most accurately explains all my symptoms and the fact that I have almost constant subluxation of my hip joint. He also said that I didn't have Lyme even though my lab work was positive for Lyme antibodies and I was later diagnosed with Lyme by someone else. Canceled any and all follow ups with Kivitz and would NOT recommend him to anyone.

Wish I could give less than 1 star. Was referred to Dr Kivitz by PCP for shoulder pain. He talked me into having a cortisone injection over my objections. ( the shot did NOTHING!) I went back and he finally relented to prescribing an MRI. Diagnosed slight rotator cuff tear, which he said didn't need surgery. Asked me to be in a study which he'd pay me $1000. Billed my insurance company for blood tests he required me to have to participate in study. Scheduled follow up. Never went back.

Dr. Kivitz is one of the BEST doctors I have ever encountered. He is so knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate! He has excellent bedside manner! He is quick, yet extremely thorough! He allows time to answer any questions you have. Seeing him is always such a pleasure. I always look forward to seeing him. His staff are equally as WONDERFUL and friendly! His facility is state of the art!

Was very arrogant and rude. I was sent there by a doctor who noticed certain markings on my nails . He insulted me with a grin and a smirk on his face and seemed to enjoy doing it. I paid for the appt , but I really deserved a refund.

I've known Dr. Kivitz for some time. He is extremely through with his knowledge. Use the staff for a lot of the premiliary exams and stuff because such a shortage of specialized care givers in the area. Have good insurance to cover the necessary testing

Dr. Kivitz lied to my insurance company about asking me to be in a study. I was there 2 hrs extra because I was waiting for the lady from the other study(she wasn't told I was there she went to lunch). Lied about the blood tests being free. Very disorganized and chaotic nobody knows what's going on. The only thing they do fast is take your money. If you love your family go somewhere else. Wish I had would of saved $256.

Doesn't spend any time with you at all. Expect to spend hours in waiting room. Was unable to diagnose me or explain condition once diagnosed, both were given by a PA upon request. Doesn't explain or listen well at all.

be prepared to spend at least 3-4 hours here. Called for an appointment due to pain and no was told there were no appointments available until April which is a 3 month wait. Having been a prior patient, over the last 16 years. I have never had a good experience here. Due to the area we live in, it is take it or leave it as they are the only dr's who treat my condition. Guess I will remain in pain!
