Dr. Grant Louie, MD

Office canceled appointment because I had not filled out appointment paperwork that they emailed to me. They did not notify me of this cancellation. I don’t typically check my email and assumed that my appointment was still in place as indicated on my personal calendar. I was not informed when I made this appointment that they would cancel it if I did not email them back that I was still coming. In my mind, if I make the appointment, it’s made and should not be canceled by the office. Frustrating. This appointment was already rescheduled by them because of possible snow on the original date. Now it’s been 5 months and no appointment. I’m finding a different provider.

They don't take my insurance, so I just self-pay. It's worth it. I've never had any other medical professional make me feel like I'm taking up too much of their time. He is thorough, listens, and explains.

I see Dr. Louie for Lupus, and he has taught me so much about Lupus and what to expect, how to handle it, etc. He is very caring, asks good questions and genuinely cares about his patients. Highly recommend him for Lupus or Arthritis. His staff is great too....courteous, friendly and respectful.

Dr. Louie is the best. He is interested in his patients, very good explains issues about your health. All I can really say is he cares. Barb K.

Dr. Louie is very knowledgeable and a delight to meet and converse with. I enjoyed listening to his honest detailed diagnoses and recommendations. It inspired me to focus on educating myself on osteoarthritis and the steps I need to take to improve my overall health. Health is wealth!

Sep 19, 2024Entire staff was courteous and professional. Very thorough intake with two PAs, Dr Louie was methodical and complete. His experience was evident by the questions and the follow up questions. Very confident in the practice to sort out the possible causes for my symptoms.

Dr. Louie was on time, so my waiting time was minimal, which I appreciated! Dr. Louie takes time with you, listens to you and is so caring that he makes your day!!

Like always Dr Louie took the time to find out what was going on medically with me any changes surgeries, injuries, or illnesses. Then he asked me how he how I thought my treatment was going and if I thought we should continue on my current path we discussed our options and together decided to continue my current path of treatment. I have a very rare form of Lupus, along with other autoimmune disorders and a variety of illnesses. I am not the typical patient. I am not a check the box symptoms or treatment patient and he understands that and takes the time to learn from me about my body. He invest time in what I have going on in my life my dreams, my goals because that’s as important as my physical body is what’s life to live if we don’t have something to live for Dr Louie is a rare find. But I suggest him to anybody I meet that has lupus or a rare autoimmune disorder, because he is willing to think outside of the box and doesn’t give up on you by far one of my favorite people.

I'm always impressed with Dr. Louie's visits. He consistently takes the time to answer all of my questions. I am never disappointed with my experience during my visits. Would highly recommend to him anyone requiring his services.

Dr. Louie is a patient and active listener, who is thoughtful in his questions and not an alarmist when it comes to discussing possible diagnoses. He is, without doubt, one of my favorite doctors. He makes me feel heard and respected.

First visit, and Dr. Louie spent a LOT of time with me and patiently listened to my long history. He is extremely knowledgeable and doesn't hesitate to share that knowledge. He is personable and included me in all his thought processes and planning. I was very happy with his friendly office staff, as well - it seems friendly and caring office staff are a rare commodity in this Frederick area, so all in all, the visit was very much appreciated!

In his own words, Dr. Louie feels he represents the field of rheumatology well. However, it seems that Dr. Louie would be better suited in pre-med academia, where he could relay everything he learned in medical school. I found him condescending and self-important without an awareness for his patient. I didn't appreciate being treated like an uninformed child, so unless you enjoy being talked down to, this demeanor will not work for everyone.

I really appreciate Dr. Louie’s analytical responses to my questions and his analytical approach to treatment options. He listens, he’s honest, and he cares abt finding options that will work for you. I’m really thankful that he’s my rheumatologist.

Dr. Louie is a phenomenal physician. He will take the time to answer all of your questions, even when the questions are as complicated as the autoimmune diseases he treats. He is very thorough and cares about helping his patients have the best quality of life possible. If a doctor has ever told you that you have autoimmune markers in your labs and can never find the cause, Dr. Louie will find the answers.

I love Dr. Louie! Extremely knowledgeable, always on time and respectful of his patients. Talks through all the options and has an open mind. Is a great teacher but always listens. His staff is great and very people focused. Can't ask for anything more!

This was my first visit with Dr. Louie. It was a great experience. The office staff were very prompt and pleasant. Dr. Louie was very professional and quite nice. He thoroughly explained my condition and he understood my issues/concerns. I'm glad I found Dr. Louie!
