A Cut To The Chase Dr!
I've had several procedures performed by Dr. A Niemeyer and she has my highest respect. All of my surgeries healed beautifully and there were zero postsurgical issues. Her knowledge base is vast, and her skills are incredible! She is most certainly direct and doesn't sugarcoat her conversations. However, all of my procedures were smooth sailing - ultimately, isn't that what we all hope for? Also, I learned to thoroughly enjoy her German personality. Sharp as a tack and wickedly FUNNY! I am not related to Dr. Niemeyer, nor am I a personal friend of hers. But when I see people criticizing her work it does annoy me. If you want to be mollycoddled, go to a daycare. If you're looking for a highly skilled surgeon who will take care of you professionally... get an appointment with Dr. A. Niemeyer.

I've had two cancer surgeries by Dr. Niemeyer. Both were were successful; cancer gone and no scars. She strives for perfection and although there are times when you have to wait it is because , as they say "Excrement Happens". She's had high staff turnover in the past, but there again she wants perfection. She will always be my go to dermatologist.

Do you want smiles or good medical care?
It's true that she seems rushed and doesn't have the expected warm doctor/patient interaction, but I see her for dermatological care, not smiles and hand-holding, so I overlook her no-nonsense business approach. As far as I know, the work she has done on me has been excellent.

I find it interesting how so many people are more concerned with just about everything other than the most important issue, which is how competently your dermatological condition is treated. Before retirement, I worked in various facets of the medical field, exposed to a variety of physicians and their specialties, including dermatology. Dr. Niemeyer recently completed a very complex surgery on my face to remove skin cancer. Now that I have healed, it's difficult to see the scar, and my cancer is gone. Although she is a dermatologist, she has proved to me to be a master at cosmetic surgery as well. I've never seen any doctor so proficient at reconstructive surgery. And David, her PA, is very conscientious and adept at both treating and monitoring patients, while doing so with compassion and courtesy. I'll not post any trivial whining here. No need to look further for another dermatologist.

It became very clear to me that Dr. Niemeyer was never going to be able to see me without me having to wait in the check- in area for at least an hour after my arrival. He is also very good at humiliating her staff in front of her patients. Her lovely office would be better served if she, herself was more professionally behaved.

This place is disorganized to the point of comical. After 4 visits I still have yet to meet Dr. Niemeyer; quite possibly part of the problem. I continue to be strung along by her remarkably inexperienced, unprofessional helper David Richardson. There are a lot of other Dermatologist offices out there, pick any other one, it can't be worse.

I agree you might have to wait quite awhile if your apt is made later in the day. Take a book. She is the best that I have ever seen. I never had a skin doc that has been so thorough and, to me, THAT is what is more important. Her priority is her concern for patients' health more than their wait time. I try to make my apts earlier in the day and have little wait. Most patients' biggest negative is the long wait. I'll wait for the best doc anytime, if I have to! She doesn't cut corners!!!

Can I give zero stars? If you go there, expect to WAIT. And WAIT. And WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! I gave up. No respect for my time, I never saw the doctor or assistant in less than an hour after my appointment time, which I regard as intolerable rudeness. I expect the doctor is quite competent at doctoring, but as a business, terrible overbooking, mismanagement, whatever. Intolerable wait times. I say don't bother, go somewhere they'll show some respect for patients' time. Paragon. What a joke.

Bad bedside manner. Very inconsiderate of patients who have to travel 2 hrs for a first time appointment only to be told they have to come back for treatment. Very poor billing practices. Didn't sent a final bill for 3 years and then threaten me with a collection agency. I move twice and always filed forwarding addresses. I am a state employee with a great credit rating. I was treated like a welfare patient.

I have been getting semi-annual exams from Dr. Niemeyer for over 6 years. I have been very satisfied with the professional and thorough service. Being fair-skinned and easily susceptible to skin damage, I feel that Dr, Niemeyer is genuinely concerned and attentive to keeping me free of skin-related problems. I highly recommend her to all.

Dr. Niemeyer and her staff were very professional and treated me with caring and respect. She examined a number of areas of concern on my skin. She recommended biopsies on two. I was able to view to biopsy results online. Her practice seems very modern and striving to be excellent. In my case they were. The demand for dermatologists in Sequim exceeds the supply, so it does take many weeks to get an appointment.
