I saw Dr. Veksman in 2021-2022... I am now being billed in 2024 for an appoinment on an insurance I am no longer on... BS. Don't go with Talkiatry if you can. They are cold and just in it for the money.

Autist & Adhd Patient Harmed by Dr. Veksman
I saw Dr. Veksman as a patient a few years back after moving to NY from my home state. I came to her for the treatment of ADHD, depression & anxiety & have since been diagnosed with Autism 1. Despite having been prescribed ADHD for years from my psychiatrist back home, Dr. Veksman required me to take a drug test & go through the timely & costly process of having years worth of physical pharmacy records transferred from out of state in order to get my meds. After passing drug test & sending records, she refused to prescribe me my medication. When asked why, Dr. Veksman's explanation was that she 'didn't believe in ADHD.' How can you be a psychiatrist & not believe in ADHD?! I guess from an ableist perspective, I don't look like someone with neurodifferences: I'm a high-functioning, white woman with high-masking abilities. Dr. Veksman's medical gaslighting & neglect of my disabilities led me to have a major bout of autistic burnout & I lost my job. RUN - DON'T WALK OUT OF HER OFFICE.

I’ve been seeing psychiatrists since I was a kid. She is hands diwn whe worst psychiatrist I’ve had. She took me off the medication I’ve been on for 10 years with no medical explanation. She isn’t ready to have the responsibility over people’s lives that she has
