It was approximately two and a half years ago when I began my treatment with Dr. Dan Williams for anxiety and depression. He was highly recommended to me by a friend who was particularly satisfied with her positive clinical results, stemming from her treatment with the doctor. After a 2 month wait, because of the doctors busy practice, I began my visits.Dr. Williams is all that I value in a medical professional! He is knowledgeable; he is thorough; he is an authentic ally interested in you and your progress. He leaves no stone unturned in understanding your issues. At a time when many psychiatrists depend solely on psycho-pharmaceutical treatment, Dr. Williams integrates talk therapy with drug therapy. Kudos to Dr. Williams for the positive clinical results I have achieved in reducing my anxiety, along with my ability to put depression behind me! Karen Schaffer

Was rude
Telehealth
He called me lazy and accused me of not caring about myself because I forgot to log in my events in the chart he told me to do. He also invalidated my physical disability and my mental health condition.

Terrible doctor!
I was given the wrong diagnosis and wrong medication. Thankfully, it was corrected by another doctor.

Dr. Dan Williams is TOPS
For the past year, my husband was treated by Dr. Williams for underlying anxiety and related issues ,due to serious health issues he suffered. During COVID we had weekly Zoom Meetings with Dr. Williams. He was non-judgmental and always suggested ways for us both to deal with our frustrations about changes in our lives-together and as individuals. He specifically addressed my husband's , and my ,feelings and concerns. When dealing with grave physical and/or emotional issues, Dr. Williams was there for us 7 days a week. My husband recently passed away and now I see Dr. Williams for grief counseling. I feel that he is literally the only one, besides me, who knows what my husband and I endured this past year.

Excellent clinician
When going through a very difficult time at work, I realized I needed to seek professional help to deal with the anxiety and the toll the stress was taking on my life. Fortunately for me, I found that help with Dr. Williams. He is most intelligent, non-judgmental, and truly showed concern for my distress. Following the plan he proposed to me, my symptoms have greatly improved, and I feel so much better.

Highly recommend
I have been the grateful recipient of Dr. Williams' knowledge and clinical expertise. I was experiencing symptoms that were challenging to diagnose and he was accurate in his assessement of my condition. I was in extreme distress at our initial meeting. He reassured me that there was a path to wellness and focused on that hope with me which I found really needed to hear. He encouraged me to meditate, exercise regularly and prescibed the correct medication that has alleviated this condition. In our therapy sessions, he has been nothing short of kind, compassionate and empowering. I highly recommend Dr. Williams.

My experience was terrible
Dr. Williams diagnosed me with conversion disorder. He was wrong. I have increased intracranial pressure and a post viral illness that causes fatigue and headaches, along with another condition. There was proof that I had increased pressure (spinal tap). He didn’t listen to me at all and seemed to just want money. To make it worse, he was extremely unprofessional and would often tell me that I was attractive or feisty. He told me that I would be raped in college. I finally convinced my parents to let me stop going to him after my dog died and he was angry that my mother asked to reschedule an appointment. He said that it was just a dog and doesn’t excuse me wanting to reschedule. I had given a week’s notice. He should not be around children and he should not be a doctor.

Over the past number of years, I have been a patient of Dr. Williams who has helped me as I struggled with issues related to a difficult childhood, ongoing depleting depression, the ups and downs of family crises, illnesses, and the inevitable crush of so many pressures one has to learn to process without being drowned. Dr. Williams is wise, insightful and patient . I have learned to appreciate and have deep respect for a caring therapist who knows the importance of listening.

One of my worst medical experience. Diagnosed me with a conversion disorder & told at my symptoms were psychosomatic. (Even handed me a copy of a chapter of a book he wrote on the subject). Upon challeging the diagnosis his answer was to up the medication even though it made me feel awful and didn't help. Wouldn't consider another possiblity. I sought another opinion & was diagnosed with a autoimmune disease. With proper treatment I was given my life back sans any psychotropic medication.

Dr Williams far exceeds what I would describe as a gifted, empathetic and altruistic practitioner. I have been a patient of Dr Williams for over two years and I can safely say that he has changed my life for the better. He has a great way of empowering people to take control of their life and move forward into better place and mindset. Thank you Dr Williams

I have worked with Dr. W on some serious health issues. Dr. W is one of those very rare doctors anyone would be fortunate to work with. Dr. W is one of the most talented, thorough, and thoughtful doctors I have had the privilege to work with; he is responsive, helpful and always calm, grounded and kind. I think Dr. W's kindness is one of his most outstanding attributes often lacking in health care professionals. Dr. W is one of those understated heroes who will only want the very best for you.

I was a patient of Dr. Williams as a young boy in his Columbia Presb. MC office in the early 2000s. As I write this 15 or so years later, not only was he grossly incorrect in his diagnosis, ultimately leading me to languish with the wrong treatment, I have nothing but unpleasant memories of our visits. He is an inarticulate, malignant, and incompetent professional and strongly dissuade any from seeking his care. I especially offer a stern warning to parents: keep your children away.

Dr. Williams is a cold, distant Psychiatrist who was condescending to me when I asked about therapies he did not agree with...I’ve been seeing someone else who has regulated my medications and is not distainful and disrespectful!! His office staff consists of one person who appeared disinterested in his patients!

Dr. Williams has been most helpful to me regarding my child’s previous disabling physical symptoms that had been treated ineffectively by previous well-intentioned doctors who did not realize that the underlying problem was psychiatric. As a result of Dr Williams’ treatment, my child’s physical problems have been fully resolved and her emotional health restored, enabling her to return to school after a prolonged absence.

Absolutely terrible -DO NOT BECOME A PATIENT. He has zero connection with people or empathy. Cold and heartless, all he cares about is money. He has no idea what he is doing nor care about the harm he did to my child. His office is total chaos and its impossible, or takes hours to get anything done. You always wait to see him yet he chides you if you are a few minutes late !
