Exceptional experience with his staff and the services provided. He was personable, professional, and reassuring. Has ordered an MRI and provided me with at home therapies to be used until results of MRI allow a conclusive diagnosis. Having gotten 2 different opinions, one from a PA at a walk-in clinic and the second from the radiologist who reviewed the initial x ray, I was happy to have Dr. Bitterman take the extra step to insure the correct diagnosis.

Failed to treat
Thought this would be THE specialist to help a severe problem. First appointment he failed so much as order an MRI of my foot/ankle. Never asked to see old outside images either that clearly illustrated the injury. He could have least been honest enough to say my injury is beyond his level of expertise at the get-go. Pawned me off for treatment. Thought about not going back for the follow up but I did and it went nowhere. Turns out his bill to insurance is astronomical! He also bills for his PA's time, too, who is redundant. We have to wonder why insurance costs are so high. Doctors themselves are to blame. I do not recommend this practice or Bitterman.

Lied by his secretary
Made appointment on 5/16/2022 at 8:15 pm for Dr.Bitterman. I drove from Jamaica, Queens and found that I had to see a PA. I refused. I was really upset. The Secretary made appointment lied to me. I was recommended by a doctor in Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn.

I am on my fifth ankle operation due to Bittermans negligence and disregard for my livelihood. He fixed a broken tibia and fibula without ordering an MRI. I’ve had to have the hardware removed, a stress fracture repaired twice, a full ligament repair and a cartilage graph put in. This has been going on for the past five years and my new surgeon doesn’t believe this is the end of my suffering. He has severely and directly impacted my emotional, financial and physical well being.

Amazing Surgeon
Dr. Bitterman took care of me after I fractured my tibia. He came to the hospital on a holiday and made sure I was taken care and booked me for surgery the next day. I had a great outcome and he said my expectations correctly. I reached all milestones as promised an am so thankful for the superb care I received from him and the team at Huntington Hospital.

Dr. Bitterman is an excellent surgeon and more amazing. compassionate person. He spent a great deal of time with me going over my options prior to surgery, explained everything that would happen during the procedure and was thorough with his post-surgical care and follow-up. I never felt rushed or forced into a decision. I even received a call from him the day after my surgery to see how i was doing. I would highly recommend him to all others in need of an orthopaedic surgeon in the area.
