Dr. Abdon Borges, MD

Dr Borges has been my primary for years now. I even followed him from ft lauderdale to deerfield when he moved (and I live in Weston!. He has ALWAYS been willing to sit and listen to any and all concerns that I might have, WITHOUT rushing me. He has always given me good, healthy advice (whether or not I chose to follow it). Some of these reviews I'm reading have me scratching my head, there has to be more to those situations than people are saying. In my long history of dealing with Drs I have found usually the ones who write reviews like that are just upset things didn't go how they wanted or just looking for someone to blame. Either way, it is not the experience that I have had with Dr Borges. He is an excellent Dr who genuinely cares about his patients who will tell you what you need to hear, not necessarily what you want to hear. I would and do recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr Borges for everything you have done for me!

Doctor was willing to listen and expressed his opinion for your overall well-being for you to consider.

I have been w/ Dr Borges for almost 10 yrs + following him from his office in Ft Lauderdale to Deerfield. Granted we have had our share of disagreements but not once have I felt that he didn't have my best interest at heart. He genuinely cares about his patients and takes his "oath" seriously. He does not deserve to be "bad mouthed" due to a bad visit. If you are looking for a primary Dr. who will do his best to get you to a point where you are as healthy as you can be, then give Dr. Borges a try. I have some serious health issues going on and have seen a lot of drs and Borges is a rare find. And I can't praise his office staff enough! They are just as busy as every other Dr office but get things done. Referrals for example I have never waited more than a day or over the weekend to have them processed. Most of the time they are done same day. Always pleasant, short wait times. What more do you want?

Very shocked to read such horrible reviews because all my experiences were the exact opposite and he’s also my parents’ PCP. I have always received a call back, my monthly script has never been forgotten once in 3 years, he listens to my concerns, he’s down-to-earth, the staff is super friendly and each one remembers my name and says hello. If more doctors practiced like him, our population would probably be a lot healthier and have a better quality of life.

My husband had surgery and was not able to walk so keeping appointments was difficult. As a result doctor refuses to authorize prescription refills for my husbands daily medications. Office is terrible about returning calls and I wonder where he got his degree. My husband has repeatedly advised the office that he has prostate cancer and needs his PSA checked. Doctor has ordered this one time in the three years we have seen him definitely time for new doctor.

I already wrote one check out google and I agree with almost all of the reviews except the ones singing his praises. Certainly not my experience. And no I would not recommend him to my family or friends.

When a Dr talks more about himself than you.....problem!!!!

Absolutely, positively NOT! He harassed me incessantly to remove my father from life support. When my father passed (on his own,) he REFUSED to sign the death certificate not once but thrice. He is a poor doctor and a despicable excuse for a human being. If I could assign a negative amount of stars I would. An infinite amount of negative stars could not adequately express my disdain. I apologize to the memory of my awesome dad he did not deserve to be treated with no dignity in death. Hospital

My mother was a patient of this doctor. every time we saw him she would tell him how she felt and he would tell to exercise and eat vegetables . We recently went to a new doctor and he found a problem with her heart. I don't understand why Dr Borges never found this problem with her heart when she told him her history of having a stroke and heart attacks several years ago . Thank god for this new doctor or else who knows what would have happened if we stayed with dr Borges

Dr Borges is an excellent doctor. He is caring..always takes the time to review what is happening in your life. On recent occasions when I have had to be hospitalized, he visited me daily to ensure I understood what was happening - even though the admitting doctor was my surgeon. I view him with the highest regard.

Dr Borges has a terrible bedside manner. Always makes you feel rushed and in a hurry. Doesn't listen to his patients, does what HE wants. Overrides Specialists medications without explanation. Find another Doctor, this one could care less about his patients.

He never contact myself or family member while in the hospital.He released my dad too early to rehab and my father returned to the hospital under twenty four hours.He passed away in a few days.His lack of caring will stay with us.
