Dr. Florence did a TKR on my right knee in McCall
Dr. Florence did my TKR in the new McCall ID hospital. The result was very good. I have excellent range of motion and the care during and after hospitalization was excellent. I am now 6 weeks post op and I'm walking without pain and for the most part without assistance from a cane. I'm very happy with my experience and I credit Dr. Florence for all the details that were done to produce that result. 5 stars!

Outstanding
Total reverse shoulder replacement went smoothly. Aftercare and therapy has me to a point now (7-weeks post-op) where life is nearly back to normal. Dr. Florence, his staff and skill far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend him if you're looking for a great ortho guy!

Reverse shoulder replacement
The entire experience from pre-op visits to determine what was needed through the surgery which went off without a hitch to the post-op visits has been excellent. Dr. Florence explained each step. I'm now in my 10th week of physical therapy and things are going very well. He and the therapist have communicated about what's needed and on my progress. He listens and responds quickly to questions and concerns. I was able to have the surgery in our local hospital and it all was very satisfying!

Convenience and Compassion
Dr. Florence was extremely thorough yet to the point in getting my muscle repair surgery. I was so thankful to find a specialist without an extremely long wait time to not only be seen, but to get scheduled for surgery. I was also able to communicate with someone in the office the same day, every time. Dr. Florence and his team had me in within weeks and on the road to healing with support and ease.

Excellent care
Dr. Florence indicated that I needed a double knee replacement after I complained of knee pain, and he took X-rays. After a thorough exam, as well as letting me know exactly what to expect, the surgery was scheduled. I followed his recommendations before and after surgery and five weeks after the procedure he has released me from care. His professionalism and expertise are first rate, and I would highly recommend him as well as Estes Park Medical Center if you need orthopedic services. I’m 71 years old and look forward to many pain free years thanks to Dr Florence and his staff.

Masterful with challenging situations
My family and I really valued the time Dr Florence spent explaining both the injury and the procedures necessary to repair it. Same thing following the surgery. He talked to my family several times the day of surgery, providing them reassurance and comfort.

Several surgeries with excellent outcomes
I've had two total knee replacements and shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Florence. He takes the time to explain each procedure in detail, answers all questions, and is patient and supportive throughout the process. I believe that Dr, Florence is knowledgeable and trustworthy and truly cares about each of his patients. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Florence to family and friends needing an orthopedic procedure.

Dr. Florence is a wonderful physician and doctor--he thoroughly listens before recommending a course forward, and is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend him! Separately, he is extremely involved in the local community, supporting people in Estes Park behind the scenes in many, many ways that may go unnoticed but that are extremely impactful.

Dr. Florence is the best! He takes time to make sure my pain is in check first with my knees and hips. I have had wrist surgery also. Both my knees and hips often hurt. It’s not time for surgery so I have had shots in my knees and physical therapy. So far his advice has been right on.

Awesome - trigger thumb release
My thumbs were so stiff, sore &/or locked that I had trouble picking up a glass of water before I went to Dr. Florence. I ended up having two surgeries, one for each thumb - each was quick and easy. He suggested OTC pain relievers I could use but I needed none at all, even when the surgical anesthesia had worn off - only mild soreness that passed quickly. My thumbs were better than pre-surgery within days, and are still improving daily. A tip of the hat to Dr. Florence is much easier with my thumbs working!

I ruptured my distal bicep tendon in a fall and Dr. Florence did an examination and after confirmed with MRI had the reconstruction surgery. It could not have gone better and I have full recovery. His expertise and skills are second to none. We are so lucky to have him in Estes Park. He is also an athlete so knows about recovery and what to expect. I am looking forward to getting back out to my golf and other fun stuff.

I wanted to let anyone considering a knee replacement, or any orthopedic surgery what an amazing experience I had. From the first appointment to discuss surgery to the rehabilitation after surgery, I was treated with the utmost professionalism and attention to my particular needs. I would highly recommend having your surgery here in Estes Park. My family was here, my physical therapy was here, and I am extremely pleased with the entire experience. After four years monitoring and treating my arthritic hip, Dr. Florence recommended replacement. Procedure went smoothly and I was home in two days. Dr. Florence monitored my recovery beyond completion of regular PT sessions. At age 83 my recovery is understandably slower than from sports injuries in my 40s and 50s. I would not hesitate to have Dr. Florence do my other hip when/if necessary.

I recently needed hip replacement surgery and had to make a decision about who I would choose as my doctor and where I would have the procedure done. After a 2013 surgery with Dr. Florence, my decision was easy. It matters that we have trustworthy and talented surgeons here in Estes Park and Dr. Florence is that and more. His genuine concern for providing the best care for my surgery and subsequent quality of life have been evident throughout this process. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Florence to any one who needs orthopedic care.

Dr. Florence is awesome! I tore my pectoralis major tendon mid December, and every office I went to in Fort Collins gave me the runaround because of my insurance. The soonest consultation appointment I could get was mid February! Because of the pain I was in, that just wasn’t acceptable. Luckily, I was eventually referred to Dr. Florence at Estes Park Health, and they were able to consult with me within one week of the injury. Turns out it was fully ruptured and needed to be surgically repaired. Dr. Florence performed the surgery mid January, and I already feel so much better. I’m three months post-surgery, so I still have quite a ways to go in terms of rehab, but even after six weeks, I already felt a significant improvement. Dr. Florence was really helpful through the whole thing, and I can’t thank him enough. I’ve seen quite a few orthopedists before, and they’re usually so quick cut you off and leave, but I honestly feel like he actually cares about the health of his patients.
