Biography: Mariko Harper, MD, FACC is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in all aspects of adult cardiology including: coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, genetic/infiltrative cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and heart failure. She has a special expertise in advanced heart failure and advanced cardiac imaging with additional training and board certifications in both echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. _x000D_ Dr. Harper serves as the Medical Director of The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. Under her direction, she has created a regional center providing an individualized approach to the diagnosis, genetic testing, advanced cardiac imaging and medical/surgical management of patients with HCM. Each patient is reviewed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians and treatment plans are designed with patient input, using a shared decision making model. The HCM Center offers comprehensive HCM treatments including: medical therapy, defibrillator implantation, alcohol septal ablation and surgical septal myectomy.
