Biography: Dr. Paul Katigbak is from Houston, Texas and joins Austin Heart as a board certified internist and cardiologist treating patients through minimally invasive testing and cardiac imaging. Dr. Katigbak graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors in Science in Biology at the University of Houston in 2006. In 2013, he earned his Medical Degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. After completing his training in Houston, Dr. Katigbak furthered his medical training to focus on adult cardiovascular disease and completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Tulane University Health Science Center in New Orleans followed by subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at HMS Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts in 2020. He recently left his busy practice in Massachusetts to be back home in Texas. Dr. Katigbak is certified in the interpretation of adult echocardiography, vascular imaging and Cardiac CT imaging. Dr. Katigbak has co-authored several peer reviewed journal publications on coronary physiology.Dr. Katigbak has special interests in cardiac imaging with echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and coronary artery disease.In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking and being with his close friends and family.

Biography: Sarah Schnelle is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. Biography: Christy Babis is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Saint Louis University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University.Originally from Connecticut, Christy moved to Austin in 2019. She previously worked as an ICU nurse in St. Louis, San Diego, and Denver before finding her home in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at the Heart Hospital of Austin. Christy has cardiovascular surgery and medicine experience as a member of the Mechanical Circulatory Support team where she specialized in advanced cardiovascular interventions including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and advanced heart failure devices. Christy is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In her free time, she enjoys being active outdoors trail running, biking, rock climbing, skiing, and playing pickleball. When not outside, she loves being quite the foodie and exploring new restaurants around Austin.
