Biography: Dr. Paul Katigbak is from Houston, Texas and joins Austin Heart as a board certified internist and cardiologist treating patients through minimally invasive testing and cardiac imaging. Dr. Katigbak graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors in Science in Biology at the University of Houston in 2006. In 2013, he earned his Medical Degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. After completing his training in Houston, Dr. Katigbak furthered his medical training to focus on adult cardiovascular disease and completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Tulane University Health Science Center in New Orleans followed by subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at HMS Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts in 2020. He recently left his busy practice in Massachusetts to be back home in Texas. Dr. Katigbak is certified in the interpretation of adult echocardiography, vascular imaging and Cardiac CT imaging. Dr. Katigbak has co-authored several peer reviewed journal publications on coronary physiology.Dr. Katigbak has special interests in cardiac imaging with echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and coronary artery disease.In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking and being with his close friends and family.

Biography: Sarah Schnelle is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. As a nurse, Sarah has worked in long term care, skilled nursing, and telemetry. She has worked as an advanced practice nurse in internal medicine treating patients in long-term acute care and rehabilitation. Prior to a career in advanced practice nursing, Sarah worked for over 14 years as a Registered Vascular Technologist providing diagnostic ultrasound services to vascular surgery and cardiology patients. Sarah is passionate about providing empathetic, evidence-based, and holistic care to her patients and their family members. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends exploring Austin and the surrounding hill country for hiking trails, restaurants, and live music.

Biography: Christy Babis is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Saint Louis University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University.Originally from Connecticut, Christy moved to Austin in 2019. She previously worked as an ICU nurse in St. Louis, San Diego, and Denver before finding her home in the cardiovascular intensive care unit at the Heart Hospital of Austin. Christy has cardiovascular surgery and medicine experience as a member of the Mechanical Circulatory Support team where she specialized in advanced cardiovascular interventions including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and advanced heart failure devices. Christy is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In her free time, she enjoys being active outdoors trail running, biking, rock climbing, skiing, and playing pickleball. When not outside, she loves being quite the foodie and exploring new restaurants around Austin.

Biography: James Ainsworth is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. He received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University. He later completed his Master of Science in Nursing, also at Texas Tech.He is board-certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and previously spent eight years as a nurse in the emergency department and intensive care unit at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center.In his free time, James enjoys fishing, watching college football, and spending family time with his wife and two young boys.
