Biography: Although he was born in Shreveport, Dr. Stafford moved with his family to Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Bartlesville, Okla. He attended the University of Oklahoma, LSU-Baton Rouge and LSU-Shreveport. He attended school in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport (LSUHSC). He completed Medical School and his residency program in Internal Medicine at LSUHSC as well. There he earned the Dr. James H. Campbell Memorial Award as the most outstanding intern. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at the same institution and was named Chief Fellow while there. Dr. Stafford has been practicing Cardiology in Shreveport since 1999. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He also served on the board of the American Heart Association. Dr. Stafford's practice includes adult noninvasive, invasive and interventional cardiology. He offers coronary angiography, stenting, angioplasty and implantation of pacemakers and other devices. He has specialized training in peripheral arterial disease. When not practicing cardiology, he enjoys skiing, hunting, scuba, traveling and spending time outdoors with his family.
