Pleased with results, but still want glasses
I recently had cataract surgery with placement of toric lenses and eye stents for glaucoma. Dr. Wagle and Dr. Isgrig are both knowledgeable and excel at their jobs. My only concern is for patients like me to become aware of the need for more than just 'readers' after the surgery. I've worn glasses since 4th grade. Over the years I developed a strong prescription for myopia and astigmatism and was using progressive lenses (no line bifocals) to read through my glasses. After the surgery, I see great!, as long as I'm looking across the room, across the yard, or driving. However, enjoying a meal is a challenge. If I wear readers to see the meal, I have to take them off to clearly see my dinner companion. To use my computer, I have to have a different strength of readers than to read a book. I'm constantly switching glasses at work and at home. I'm looking forward to my progressive lens glasses to eliminate the need for the readers so I can see everything without the switch.
