Dr. Vogtle Ninh obtained his BS in Biology from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2008. During his college career, he spent many hours observing dentists help patients enjoy the self-confidence of a bright and healthy smile. Thrilled with how dentistry was able to improve a person's overall well being, he continued his education to obtain his DDS degree from the University Of Maryland Baltimore College Of Dental Surgery in 2012. During his dental school career, he was involved with many community service related events. He particularly enjoyed volunteering his time with Project Jump Start and Project Feast to help feed the homeless in Baltimore City, MD. Having a desire to continue to give back to the community, Dr. Ninh also became an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. The fellowship empowered him to create a positive change within the Baltimore City community's oral health. As a Schweitzer fellow, he enjoyed teaching 2-4thgraders the importance of their oral health through interactive learning and instilling them with self confidence towards their overall health. He also enjoys volunteering on international dental missions such as Operation Smile Vietnam, where he was able to participate in the exchange of knowledge, experience, culture and deliver dental care to the children of Vietnam. Dr. Ninh graduated from dental school with the Dean's Award for Community Service, an award that was created to recognize and promote the dedication to community service among students and faculty. With a special interest in oral surgery, Dr. Ninh was selected to complete a yearlong clerkship in the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the University of Maryland Dental School. Through the clerkship he was able to gain additional education and experiences in oral surgery. Dr. Ninh continued to advance his education by completing a 2 year residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Maryland Dental School. His residency training allowed him to gain additional experiences in many aspects of dentistry involving cosmetics, oral surgery, endodontics, and dental implant placement and restoration. After completing his residency, Dr. Ninh was given the The Harry W.F. Dressel Jr. Award of Clinical Excellence in General Dentistry. This award is given in the recognition of clinical proficiency in general dentistry and concept of total patient care. Because of his depth in experience with general dentistry, he was also selected to become a faculty member at the University of Maryland Dental School to continue and teach other dental students. Dr. Ninh now enjoys working in private practice and living in southern Maryland. He continues to participate in organized dentistry and is member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Maryland State Dental Association.
