Ronak Patel, D.O. is a native Texan. He attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Economics. He went on to attend Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth Texas in which he graduated with honors. He was in the top 5 in his class and obtained the President's Scholar award, given to students who maintained Dean's list throughout every semester in college.Dr. Patel completed his surgical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical Center. In May of 2005, Dr. Ellis arrived at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas where he has helped to create a model Acute Care Program that seamlessly integrates Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, Emergency General Surgery and the care of devastating wounds. In 2015, CareChex named Mother Frances the number one in Texas for Excellence in Trauma care. During his tenure in Tyler, Dr. Ellis has distinguished himself as a conscientious, thoughtful and skilled practitioner.
