Dr. Christopher was raised in New Roads, Louisiana. He graduated from The University of the South, Sewanee in 1993 and graduated from Louisiana State University Health Center in Shreveport in 1997. Upon completion of his General Surgery residency, he joined the military and served in the United States Navy from 2004 until 2010. During that time he served on the USS Theodore Roosevelt, deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and served on the USNS Comfort in Haiti after the earthquake in 2010.He has been practicing on the Northshore since 2010.

He received his bachelor's degree in microbiology from Louisiana State University in 1997 and earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in 2009.
