Dr. Rego holds certification by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Additionally, he has been elected to membership and fellowship in the most esteemed organizations in his field, including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians and other national and international organizations.Dr. Rego serves as a clinical professor of surgery in the medical school faculty at Nova Southeastern University and Florida International University.
