Zachary T Sharfman, MD, MS is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of spine conditions from the upper neck to the low back. Raised in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Sharfman graduated from the University of California San Diego with a bachelor's degree in Biology and Biochemistry. He was a four-year scholarship collegiate rower and was awarded as a national student athlete honoree. He then received a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Human Nutrition at Columbia University. He went on to study medicine at Tel Aviv University, where he graduated at the top of his class and received the Deans Award for Academic Excellence.Dr. Sharfman completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, during which he served as chief resident and was honored with the Stanley Hoppenfeld award for excellence in spine surgery. Dr. Sharfman further specialized in complex, minimally invasive and robotic spine surgery, completing his fellowship at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), under the guidance of Doctors Berven, Deviren, Tay, Theologis and Burch. Dr. Sharfman specializes in surgery for degenerative and deforming conditions of the spine. Dr. Stephen Benson has been working in the Conejo Valley for the last 20 years. He attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in Molecular Biology. He attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a three-year podiatric surgical residency at the VA Hospital in West Los Angeles. Dr. Benson continues to help teach students and residents at both the VA Hospital and Olive View-UCLA medical center. He is a clinical adjunct professor at both the Ohio and Arizona colleges of podiatric medicine. He is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Professional Wound Care Association. Dr. Benson is certified in wound care by the council for medical education and testing.

Recently I celebrated my 25th anniversary in practice. My job is to provide patients with enough information to make the bests decision for their needs. I understand that every patient and every decision about care is unique and look forward to helping you with yours. Personally, I live in Oak Park, am a Rotarian, have volunteered for six surgery trips to Honduras and am Board Certified.
