I felt scammed.
I have been going to Dr. Miller for years and up to recently have enjoyed the experience. However, I had a periodontal deep clean performed due to having deep pockets which could cause gum disease. After that procedure I no longer receive cleanings that my insurance will pay 100%. My cleanings are now called 'periodontal cleanings' and cost more even though there is no difference in the actual procedure. Periodontal cleanings are supposed to be a more extensive cleaning, but I keep getting just the regular treatment and charged more. All this after I was told by the hygienist that I have no signs of gum disease. They told me that once you've had one of the deep cleanings with below gum scraping, you can no longer be charged for a regular cleaning and they always have to be called periodontal cleanings. If I'm going to be charged for a periodontal cleaning, shouldn't I receive one?
