Biography: Welcome! I like to think counseling is a wonderful journey to help explore yourself and develop helpful coping skills when facing difficulty in life. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 8 years of experience in the field. I have a Master of Arts degree in counseling from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the State of New Hampshire, and I am also a DBT Linehan-Board of Certification, Certified Clinician and an EMDR-Trained Therapist. I have worked with many different individuals, including those who struggle with depression, anxiety, addictions, and trauma. I think of counseling as a process of working together to develop an insightful mind set into who you are and how to make meaning from your experiences. My counseling style involves a high level of active listening upon my part and an overall collaborative effort to help you meet your specific goals and needs. I tend to practice from a person-centered, humanistic perspective. I also have specific training in dialectical behavior therapy, which is an incredibly helpful combination of developing skills in handling highly stressful situations in a healthy way, as well as improve upon communication skills and regulating emotions. I also work with individuals using EMDR therapy as a modality to help resolve unprocessed traumatic experiences. I believe everyone's story and experiences create strengths that can be helpful in feeling better. It takes a lot of strength and courage to start the process of counseling. Something you might want to know about me is that I've been in the client's seat in the counseling relationship and understand just how much strength and courage it takes to talk with a counselor. If you're ready to start the journey, I'm here to support you. I look forward to working with you!

Biography: My name is Dr. Elizabeth Nyang. I have a masters degree in counseling from Seton Hall University and a doctorate degree in counseling psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology. I work with clients (adults and couples) that have issues with mental health, relationships/marriage, and/ life issues. I accept clients with depression, anxiety, problems at work, problems within the marriage/family, mood disorders, and adjustment issues. I use a cognitive behavioral approach, Gottman approach for marriages, and Gestalt techniques integrated with meditation and tai chi to help clients gain insight into the root causes of their problems and/or marriage issues and reduce stress. My communication style is relaxed, honest, caring and factual. When working with clients, I find that they appreciate honesty and my being able to listen with respect and without judgement. My personal acknowledgement that I am not perfect allows me to be able to form a genuine relationship with my clients by accepting them where they are in life. I started using meditation ten years ago and began practicing Tai Chi nine years ago. Today, I integrate meditation and Tai Chi into my therapy sessions. Some of my clients enjoy doing seated tai chi movements during online counseling. Water aerobics is my passion, and I try to take a water aerobics class three times a week. After water aerobics, I enjoy going for a short swim. Exercise is how I add balance to my life. We will work together to help you find ways to resolve issues and add balance to your life. I am looking forward to working with you.
