Biography: I come from a long line of physicians, so it wasn't surprising to my family that I wanted to be a doctor from a very young age. It was during my general surgery training that I realized the breadth of experience plastic surgery offered. I was attracted to the opportunity to take care of patients of any age from head to toe. \n During my training, I noticed that the plastic surgeons I worked with had incredible relationships with their patients. And to me, that's what medicine is all about - building trusting relationships. I believe open and honest communication is the most important aspect of any relationship, including that between patient and doctor. \n My approach to care is founded on treating each patient as an individual. Having surgery is stressful and can be intimidating. My job is to do everything I can to make sure patients feel comfortable with not only the surgery itself, but with me as their surgeon. \n I'm a board-certified general and plastic surgeon and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and serve on two of the organization's committees that focus on legislation and advocacy. As a resident, I was honored to receive the Maxwell Award, given to the top surgical resident, and the Research Award, given to the resident with the top research paper. \n Life's an adventure with my amazing wife and three incredible kids by my side. My family and I were drawn to Asheville for its endless outdoor opportunities; we love hiking and spending time together in nature. I'm an avid amateur photographer with a passion for capturing landscapes and the occasional wildlife shot. On weekends, you'll often catch me perfecting my barbecue skills by smoking a brisket or pork butt. When I'm not behind the camera or in charge of the grill, I'm likely watching football with my family.
