Biography: Dr. George received her B.A. from Stanford University. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1986. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of California, Davis-East Bay in 1992. Her focus shifted from general surgery to colorectal surgery in 1993 where she spent a year-long residency for colon and rectal specialization at the Schumpert Medical Center at Louisiana State University. After spending 6 years at the Kaiser Foundation Medical Center in California as an attending surgeon, she decided to go into private practice as a colorectal surgeon. Dr. George moved to Anchorage and established Alaska Colorectal Surgery in 1998.
