Biography: Dr. Ricardo R. Gonzalez is an internationally-recognized expert in minimally-invasive treatments for voiding dysfunction. For men, he is an expert in surgical therapies for BPH, including GreenLight laser vaporization of the prostate, enucleation (HoLEP and GreenLEP), Rezum, Urolift, Aquablation and others. He currently holds a Center of Excellence Certification for both GreenLight and Rezum. He has been invited to teach laser surgery throughout the U.S. and in 17 foreign countries. His research includes the development and evaluation of minimally invasive treatments that improve voiding function in men while preserving sexual function. His focus also encompasses the evaluation and management in urinary incontinence and pelvic floor reconstruction and functional restoration in women. His goal is to provide state-of-the-art urologic care to improve patients' quality of life, especially with urinary and sexual quality of life. Dr. Gonzalez was the former Medical Director for the Centers for Voiding Dysfunction and Clinical Research at Houston Metro Urology. He has joined the full-time academic faculty at Houston Methodist Hospital with faculty affiliations at Weil Cornell and Baylor College of Medicine. He is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at Cornell in New York City. He currently practices urology with a focus on voiding dysfunction and pelvic restorative medicine reconstructive surgery in The Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. Biography: Dr. Kristin Chabarria is an obstetrician-gynecologist providing OB/GYN care with Houston Women's Care Associates (HWCA) in Houston, TX. Dr. Chabarria is a Louisiana native, completing both a masters in cell and molecular biology at Tulane University and medical school at Louisiana State University. She moved to Houston after medical school and completed her residency training at Baylor. Post-residency, Dr. Chabarria worked in another practice here in Houston prior to starting with Houston Women's Care Associates in 2019. Dr. Chabarria approaches patient care as a team effort. Biography: Kathleen Kobashi is Chair of the Department of Urology at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas. Her area of interest includes treatment of urinary incontinence in men and women, overactive bladder (urgency and frequency), neuromodulation, and pelvic prolapse. Her research focuses on patient perspectives and clinical outcomes following treatment of pelvic floor disorders. Prior to moving to Houston, she served as Section Head of Urology and Renal Transplantation at Virginia Mason Medical Center for 14 years and Director of VM's Pelvic Floor Center. She received her B.A. at Wellesley College and her M.D. at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, and completed her urologic residency at the University of California, Irvine followed by a Fale Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) fellowship at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles before joining Virginia Mason in 1999. She is currently pursuing her Executive MBA at the University of Michigan.
