Dr. Hannon pursued an additional year of training in lower extremity adult reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. This year was dedicated to specializing in advanced reconstructive surgical care of hip and knee conditions. Dr. Hannon is dedicated to advancing the field of hip and knee replacement through research, education and leadership. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research nationally and internationally. He has received multiple grants and research awards, including the prestigious American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) James A. Rand Young Investigator's Award for his research on reducing opioid use after hip and knee replacement. He currently serves as the co-lead investigator for the AAHKS clinical practice guideline on pain control and anesthesia in hip and knee replacement. He is an AAHKS Health Policy Fellow and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple orthopaedic journals.
